No Wonder Barack Obama will be a One-Termed President.....
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 12:59 AM by DimplesinMI
How easily are we fooled? This movement started in 2008, right after President Obama was elected to office.

Sure the moment (or day) on January 20, 2009, felt good. People were glued to televisions, in movie theaters and stood in the cold winter day on the Washington, D.C. Mall, happy that the President was elected. Well, most of us, that is.

Then, the GOP got smart. They met in tea shops, on the internet, at the KKK secret holes in the woods...and came up with a plan. At this point, their plan seems to be working just fine and then some.

Divide and conquer.

So, little birdies start appearing on traditional Democratic websites. Sites which were in a unison Kumbyia mode, about the President, during the 2008 election. Asking, ever-so-softly, is he Progressive enough? Questioning the impact of the proposed health care law. Saying that the President did not truly support DADT and immigration rights.

Next FDL got into the game. Comparing the President to a cartoon figure of an bygone era of the 1920's. You know, when Black people had to gain acting roles in black face.

Questioning the President ability to lead keep on coming. Tea Baggers started part 2 of the Divide and Conquer strategy, compare President Obama to being a Muslim and question his right to U.S. Citizenship.

Did it stop there? Hell no! Signs started appearing at town hall meetings across the country, defacing President Obama as everything but, a child of God.

Part three of Divide and Conquer... More spin to Democratic sites. "He has governed From the Center,"
they cried. "He supports Wall Street," they wrote. "He don't care about us," they shouted from the rooftops. More crap appeared until some individuals that were otherwise sane, began to question the President too.

By the end of 2009, beginning of 2010, the fix was set. With the unemployment rate near double digits and the Republicans in the House and Senate going along with the company line..."WE SAY HELL NO YOU CAN'T!" President Obama was set to lose seats in both the chambers in the mid-term elections. Goal, half accomplished, the Tea Baggers exclaimed.

Flash forward to November 2010. The election is over. Seats are lost. President Obama is crushed but, not yet destroyed.

See destroying the President is for the second hand of the plan, i.e. 2010-2012. The "plants" (you know, so-called Democrats in sheep's clothing) were well associated within traditional Democrat websites, by this time.

So, what is the future? Well, by the end of 2011, President Obama will be compared to former President Jimmy Carter (one-termed and weak). More questions on his policies and with the Republicans control of the U.S. House ....the economy will not get any better, at all. By then, Obama's approval ratings will be in the low 30's and so will the Democratic Senate.

More talk about the President faith, race, growing gray hair....whatever to knock the guy down will be the course of the day. In back door rooms of some "hard core" Democrats, questions will began to arise, "Did we elect the wrong "Black" man?"

Palin will run, along with a host of other Tea Bagging Republicans and, a challenge from the "Progressive Left" will rise. At the end of all this drama....President Obama will be going back to Chi-Town and we will be in for a World of Hell.

This is our future and we (some of us that is) are buying into the game...HOOK, LINE and SINKER. The worst part is it's like we did not learn from what Clinton went though. If one thing the Republicans are not is, stupid for long.

Will we stand up and come up with plans of our own or, just hand our country to them on a silver platter? Only time will tell.

"Palin will run, along with a host of other Tea Bagging Republicans and, a challenge from the "Progressive Left" will rise. At the end of all this drama....President Obama will be going back to Chi-Town and we will be in for a World of Hell."

Sinister. Did you just come up with this?

2. Please don't say things like this.
"Palin will run, along with a host of other Tea Bagging Republicans and, a challenge from the "Progressive Left" will rise. At the end of all this drama....President Obama will be going back to Chi-Town and we will be in for a World of Hell."

That give me nightmares. Because I know that a) tea baggers are stupid enough to run Palin and b) there may be enough jackasses on the "left" to try to primary Obama and the results would be exactly as you've painted here.

Seriously. You just scared the hell out of me.

3. I don't know about the Progressive Left challenge, but I can believe the Palin elevation
And you just KNOW someone here will wonder, after a midterm like this:

1. How anyone is voting for her

2. How she's actually WINNING

3. Why is the media being so nice to her?

24. I have definitely seen the slightly underhanded postings by the same characters
always undermining always raising questions. I often get disgusted coming on this board knowing it is infiltrated by dissenters for the sole purpose of disrupting. They follow the rules of the board
to the letter so that they do not get tombstoned, yet they are nothing but plants.

But the question still begs why were so many willing to drink the swill. Maybe leftover bad sentiment from the primaries? Whatever the reason, there were many who were ready to turn with some
prodding and a feeling that there was a large group of unsatisfied Obama voters. Self sabatoge is the what the dems do best.

14. Except that ...
the corporations etc who want Obama out have the power to affect the economy for better or worse. I'm not a conspiracy minded person, but couldn't they just manipulate it to make it look like Republicans have fixed everything? I agree with the post - I've sensed a move to destroy President Obama right from the start... A lot of us notice that this is like the election that never ended - He's been continuously treated like a candidate and not with the respect other presidents have been given.

that's when folks will scratch their asses,
and try to figure out what happened.....
but I can tell them now, what happened is that folks ain't done shit
but whine for so long, they fucking happened.

As for how Obama is treated? Just Think Reconstruction, immediately after the Civil War.

One will also have to wonder, how could President Obama lose so much support, so quickly....from the same people that cried, hugged, jumped and shouted, on the night of the election in 2008. Make you wonder if SOME of these folks ever really supported the guy in the first place. Or was it just that Bush screwed the economy up so bad that the thoughts that went unsaid was like, "Hell with it...let the Black guy try and fix it. If he screws up, just a little bit, at least we can say we gave "them" an opportunity."

That is sad thinking, by the way.

Maybe only a couple of folks (OK, more folks than that) saw what I observed on November 3rd. In President Obama's eyes, his non-verbal communication and on his face....I saw a broken man. He truly thought he had the support of most of the country. He believed that his policies would fix our many problems and he gave all of it the good college try, to repair, right away. Some policies are working but, not fast enough for many.

I seen that he would like to do miracles that others say need to be done "RIGHT NOW" but, he is JUST A HUMAN....like you and me.

Too bad some of us given up on him already. At least, he has yet, to give up on us.

12. How could he lose so much support so fast? I suspect...
a lot of that support was a mile wide but a quarter inch thick. Expectations were far too high on our side-- no one could do all the things he was expected to do, but he is vilified for not doing them nonetheless.

As with Clinton, the right wing hate machine ramped up and overpowered any message we could put out. The constant whining and complaints from our side just make it worse.

11. Obama's problem is that he projects weakness extremely well
His tone in his post election speech indicated that getting along with Republicans and Wall Street was more important than fighting for core Democratic principles. To hell with the Middle Class is what he was really saying.

If Obama goes along with raising the retirement age for Social Security recipients, I will not be voting for Obama in 2012. I'm 49, was laid off in 2008. Have a contract job with my old employer but no guaranteed full-time employment. I'm too young to get Social Security but too old for employers to want to hire me full-time.

13. More speculation to then make announcements about.
What if he increases the wage limit on SS in order to make it solvent? Which is has actually stated multiple times? Then what? Then you would find some other reason not to vote for him in 2012. It's really easy, this game we play.

15. He is soft spoken, dignified, civil and polite -
Given how he is treated, this to me projects the deepest kind of strength. You say you won't be voting for Obama in 2012 - who then? Palin? Romney? Gingrich? Huckabee?

20. I drew a line where I would not vote for Obama. Obama crosses it, then I won't vote for him in 2012
That line is Social Security. If he goes along with the commission he stacked in favor of Wall Street to raise the retirement age for people under 55, like me, then I won't vote for him in 2012. I'm in that age group that is being laid off and having very difficult times finding a job in my line of work -- IT. Raising the retirement age screws me and those facing the same layoff problems. He should lower it and allow those at least 50 and over to qualify for SS and can no longer get unemployment benefits to apply for SS benefits.

16. I just watched the whole post-election presser and thought it has been mischaracterised a bit.
I thought the tone he took was appropriate and useful for the day after, and his answers responsive. I think it all depends on whether he and the leaders quickly regroup and come out fighting in the first round of the new half-term. He won't have many supporters left if he doesn't.

The press conf. is here for anyone who hasn't seen it:

22. F you to heck and back ...
for feeding into the BS ...

I see nothing but strength in him ... It is easy to be unaward, puffy and loud, and that in reality is weak ...

The man is tough as heck, and hearing someone from our team calling him weak just nerves me to no end ...

Sorry, YOU are the problem ... Rs will get behind whatever bag of crape they have - Bush was a weak man, but they to man and woman romanticed him into being "resolute."

Obama is on a whole nother level of tough, and we have far too many on our end who say the same stinking crape the wingers say about him ...

18. Sickening isn't it?
So many revealing they have no clue.

I was at a gathering the other night, saw an old friend. He is awesome! Was a real shit stirrer and decided to run for office. Is now a city commissioner. My but how his view has changed. He confessed how shocked he was at how hard it is. Admitted when he was on the outside looking in it all seemed so easy, you go in, do things your way and that's it. Now that he's in he realizes that ain't how it works.

There are many here who would benefit greatly from such an experience.

Julie

27. If the Republicans nominate Palin, Obama will win with over 400 EVs.
I believe that. Too much is being made of the takeover of the House by the Republicans. The Republicans gained back seats they lost in 2006 and 2008 mainly because the over 65 crowd turned out in large numbers and youth who supported Obama in 2008 not so much. Things will be much different in 2012.
