How easily are we fooled? This movement started in 2008, right after President Obama was elected to office.
Sure the moment (or day) on January 20, 2009, felt good. People were glued to televisions, in movie theaters and stood in the cold winter day on the Washington, D.C. Mall, happy that the President was elected. Well, most of us, that is.
Then, the GOP got smart. They met in tea shops, on the internet, at the KKK secret holes in the woods...and came up with a plan. At this point, their plan seems to be working just fine and then some.
Divide and conquer.
So, little birdies start appearing on traditional Democratic websites. Sites which were in a unison Kumbyia mode, about the President, during the 2008 election. Asking, ever-so-softly, is he Progressive enough? Questioning the impact of the proposed health care law. Saying that the President did not truly support DADT and immigration rights.
Next FDL got into the game. Comparing the President to a cartoon figure of an bygone era of the 1920's. You know, when Black people had to gain acting roles in black face.
Questioning the President ability to lead keep on coming. Tea Baggers started part 2 of the Divide and Conquer strategy, compare President Obama to being a Muslim and question his right to U.S. Citizenship.
Did it stop there? Hell no! Signs started appearing at town hall meetings across the country, defacing President Obama as everything but, a child of God.
Part three of Divide and Conquer... More spin to Democratic sites. "He has governed From the Center," they cried. "He supports Wall Street," they wrote. "He don't care about us," they shouted from the rooftops. More crap appeared until some individuals that were otherwise sane, began to question the President too.
By the end of 2009, beginning of 2010, the fix was set. With the unemployment rate near double digits and the Republicans in the House and Senate going along with the company line..."WE SAY HELL NO YOU CAN'T!" President Obama was set to lose seats in both the chambers in the mid-term elections. Goal, half accomplished, the Tea Baggers exclaimed.
Flash forward to November 2010. The election is over. Seats are lost. President Obama is crushed but, not yet destroyed.
See destroying the President is for the second hand of the plan, i.e. 2010-2012. The "plants" (you know, so-called Democrats in sheep's clothing) were well associated within traditional Democrat websites, by this time.
So, what is the future? Well, by the end of 2011, President Obama will be compared to former President Jimmy Carter (one-termed and weak). More questions on his policies and with the Republicans control of the U.S. House ....the economy will not get any better, at all. By then, Obama's approval ratings will be in the low 30's and so will the Democratic Senate.
More talk about the President faith, race, growing gray hair....whatever to knock the guy down will be the course of the day. In back door rooms of some "hard core" Democrats, questions will began to arise, "Did we elect the wrong "Black" man?"
Palin will run, along with a host of other Tea Bagging Republicans and, a challenge from the "Progressive Left" will rise. At the end of all this drama....President Obama will be going back to Chi-Town and we will be in for a World of Hell.
This is our future and we (some of us that is) are buying into the game...HOOK, LINE and SINKER. The worst part is it's like we did not learn from what Clinton went though. If one thing the Republicans are not is, stupid for long.
Will we stand up and come up with plans of our own or, just hand our country to them on a silver platter? Only time will tell.
