Ex-Clinton strategist: Obama needs event ‘similar’ to OKC to ‘reconnect’ with voters
Talk about a bad analogy: Appearing on television recently, former Hillary Clinton campaign adviser and current public relations executive Mark Penn suggested that President Obama needs a moment "similar" to the tragic terrorist attack on the Oklahoma City federal building, in order to "reconnect" with voters.

He didn't even seem to flinch in making the comment.

Penn is currently president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller, a multi-national public relations firm. He also served in 2008 as chief strategist for then-Senator Hillary Clinton's run for the White House. Before that, Penn advised former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in his third run for the UK leadership post, and served clients such as AT&T, Texaco, Ford, Merck, Verizon, BP, McDonald’s and Microsoft.

After the events of Sept. 11, 2001, President George W. Bush experienced the highest approval ratings of his presidency, but the same could not be said of President Clinton after the Oklahoma City bombing.

I will never understand why Hillary employed this fool!

10. This fucking guy is why Clinton had to be opposed and why she lost.

You put a guy like this in charge of your campaign and it means you want to lose or make such poor decisions that it is inevitable.

This wing of the party needs to be exorcised, even at the cost of a couple of bad cycles.

These kind of machinations are what poisons our water, creates the majority of the internal conflict, and of course the snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
It also does much to whittle us down near the "not a dime's worth of difference" area.
That's Republican lizard brain talk there.
How much better can we be with folks like this in this joke of a circus tent???

Even if we can muster no better than the "sane" party then this kind of mentality and level of "game politics" is still outside any real boundary of the "tent".

The Dick Morris', the Lanny Davis', and the Mark Penn's need to kick fucking rocks.

I'm still completely unclear on what I'm supposed to agree with Ben Nelson on but these "sensible centrist" non-partisan, yet hyper-partisan to their brand of politics folks are clearly just moles here to create the political party equivalent of bone marrow cancer.
You tell me anything that this stripe has ever done that has been positive for the country or the party.

The arrogance let's the old mask slip too often with these guys. Anybody looking for dead weight should start first with the fucking Gremlins that most represent the con game that is third way politics.

15. Hillary certainly knows how to Pick'em....Stay Classy Penn!
And ladies and gents...this is one of the reasons Hillary didnt become president...surrounding yourself with close friends as this for advisers says a lot about Hillarys attitudes towards things. She may be a fighter but she is not entirely for the people.

21. Please, give me a break!!!
Hillary won the votes of more registered Democrats than Obama. it was a very close race. Aside from the fact that you obviously don't know her if you think that she's not for the people.

Having said that, Penn IS a jerk.

19. Gross. In 1995 I could have cared less about what the OK City bombing did for Clinton's image.
I was actually concerned about...you know...the adults and children that died. It was horrific and terribly sad. Penn is disgusting.

why I supported Obama in the Primary, when all is said and done. He is everything that is wrong with our political system, stuffed into a bad suit.
