("Fire Pelosi" was the old one.)

3. No she wasn't.
She should have started impeachment proceedings and war crime investigations on The Big Dick and his trained chimp.

She lost me when she did not...(wouldn't have been prudent). There is no justice in this country anymore.

The few bones that the wussie fucking dems were allowed to grab from the repukes after their feast don't amount to shit. Not much has changed. The US is still in an uncontrolled nose dive, and about to auger in.

We're fucked! Get off the grid. Get a garden in. Oil your tools!

4. Consider that if she had gone with those proceedings and investigations
Very little would had been accomplished.

5. That's exactly what we got anyway.
Very little accomplished.

But now we're on record as approving of illegal invasions of other countries, torture, rendition, imprisonment or assassination without trial.

Lovely.

7. that is such bull
To say we've accomplished nothing is just ridiculous. Really twisting things to feel like a victim.

10. Did you bother paying attention to all of the legislation that was passed?
Or other actions in other arenas that would put those at risk for approving torture and other possible actions?

Do you really think that everything accomplished would had happened if investigations and impeachment attempts had been initiated? Sure I would like to have Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and all of their buddies convicted and preferably shot for treason.

15. Yeah, I'm aware of the legislation that was passed.
I watched Obama bargain away the public option before the battle even began.

Given the mandate and bully pulpit he had, we should have passed much more progressive stuff.

Do you realize it is illegal to just ignore war crimes? Legislators have an obligation to uphold the constitution and our laws.

Politics is a sporting event though, so forget what is morally correct, we have to win, no matter what. Winning is everything!

Rah Rah! :puke:

16. I've read through the subthread and you have some really good points about
impeachment proceedings. However, most of the rest of your grievances seem to be against the WH and Senate. She got a lot of pretty liberal stuff through the House, the Senate and WH are much more responsible for changes and watering down and such. Just saying. She surely didn't do all some of us think she should have, but she did a damned good job of getting over 400 respectably liberal bills on balance out of the House, then the Senate (Harry Reid) and the WH (Obama) turned on her which added to the negative impression that the righties were inventing.

She worked damned hard, and she was lioness-like in her fighting of the Repubs. I'm not ready to see her go. She ain't perfect, but she done pretty good comparatively, imo.

6. To me it is very simple minded to claim the Dems were "afraid" of
impeaching Bush.

Just what were they afraid of, pray tell?

Assassination attempts? What? Not being reelected? Can't be, if that's what the people so wanted.

They decided it was better to spend their time other ways. Given the difficulties of proof, and the fact they may not have wanted to start an impeachment whenever the other party takes Congress tradition, I can respect that decision.

for Bush and Cheney the R loss of 2008 was punishment enough. These people love power. They have none now.

8. The Bush impeachment could have been done in their spare time, dontcha know?
In between saving the country (and probably the world) from another Great Depression, saving the auto industry, regulating Wall Street, passing Health Care and a million other things that kept the country from completely falling apart, there was plenty of time and money to devote to going after Bush.
If it was at all possible, yeah I would have liked to have seen Bush and his minions prosecuted but we know it just couldn't happen. The choice was made to save the country and it was the right choice.

9. Pelosi got everything we wanted passed in the House. She did a great job.
It's the Senate that fucked everything up.

11. Pelosi is good for dems. She's the only one who keps tight disipline in the house.
We need that now more than ever. Hoyer will compromise with the repubs. Pelosi will push Obama to the left in negotiating with these bastards.

17. The rethugs are definitely scared of Pelosi becoming the minority leader.
Because they know she'll be kicking Bonehead's ass in 2012/2014.
