Marines' Leader: Keep Policy on Gays in Military
Gen. James Amos, Marines Corps' New Leader, Wants 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Kept In Place

...Amos said the policy's repeal may have unique consequences for the Marines, which is exempt from a Defense Department rule for troops to have private living quarters except at basic training or officer candidate schools. The Marines puts two people in each room to promote a sense of unity.

"There is nothing more intimate than young men and young women – and when you talk of infantry, we're talking our young men – laying out, sleeping alongside of one another and sharing death, fear and loss of brothers," he said. "I don't know what the effect of that will be on cohesion. I mean, that's what we're looking at. It's unit cohesion, it's combat effectiveness."...

Amos said his top priority was success in Afghanistan – no matter how many people or how much equipment is required – and that he didn't expect any pullback in Marine forces over the next year.

3. Awww. How cute.
So in other words you're afraid your bromance will turn into an actual romance? Are you afraid your homoerotic intimacy with other men will cease just being erotic and just turn full-out homo?

Let's face facts General. You're just afraid that you might actually give into your suppressed urges; then suddenly the time you're spending there with your buddy will morph into your own personal rendition of Brokeback Mountain.

Just shut up and put a cock in your mouth already. It'll do you some good. Don't get caught in some restroom like Larry Craig, it isn't worth the humiliation.

4. Why can't the commander in chief get these fucks to shut the hell up.
They are not policy makers, are they? Is this Argentina? Has the military assumed an "active" role in state affairs?

5. I'm guessing the Marines were the first to oppose African American integration as well

no doubt they are good at being 'out' front on such important issues

8. I think Mr Amos needs to find a new job.
I'm sure his patrons in the weapons industry could find a place for him.

9. This guy is stupid. There are ALREADY gay Marines.
And they've probably already bunked together--both with each other and with straight guys. He's trying to draw a really illogical conclusion--basically, that being "out" as gay will somehow make you MORE likely to be screwing around in your quarters (and therefore unprepared for an attack.) He seems to think that gay men are so sex-crazed and irresponsible that they couldn't be trusted to behave professionally. Except that they're ALREADY THERE. Has it happened? No? Then STFU.

Someone this stupid shouldn't be in a position of leadership. He's obviously incompetent.

10. So, how is it going in Afghanistan again? Allowing gays to serve openly is
going to harm success there? HAHAHAHA!
