Thank you Mr. President

In all the clutter, hustle, and chatter of the 24 hour news cycle sometimes
your simple decency and all that you have done for us does not get the credit
it deserves so may I just say, thank you.

3. That child was the son of a White House Staffer
Edited on Sun Nov-07-10 10:25 AM by Botany
I saw a story about that picture this AM on the "CBS Sunday Morning Show" and the
little boy said that he had a haircut just like the President's and asked to see it up
close ..... the little boy patted Obama's head and told him he could see lots of grey
hairs

Obama has had the picture on display @ the White House for over a year.

I watched the stories about Dick Cavett & Loretta Lynn but I had to walk before
W came on .... no need to ruin my day.

14. Yes, I think this picture is very telling of a good, strong person
And it is the perfect match with the picture of Michelle Obama curtsying with that tiny little girl!

I think the Obamas are REAL people, and that their strength comes from great intelligence mixed with great goodness of the heart. . .and from each other!

12. calling someone pathetic is pretty harsh
look at the comment that you are responding to. Does it really deserve such a personally harsh response?

8. Is the Lilly Ledbetter act not progressive enough for you?
Justices Sotomayor & Kagannot not progressive enough for you?

The fact that I can't be dropped from my health insurance because I was just diagnosed w/
diabetes not progressive enough for you?

The action on getting rid of 1/2 of the world's plutonium and 1/3 of the world's nuclear weapons not progressive enough for you?

The fact that he has gotten more done than any President @ this point of his term including FDR not progressive enough for you?

Stopping a 2nd Great Depression not progressive enough for you?

***********

BTW I started this thread to thank the man for his simple decency which didn't have anything to do w/ politics .......

18. He is not supposed to "fight"
Where does this constant drumbeat of a talking point come from? Being President is not a battle. It is to enforce the laws, and decide whether to sign or veto what Congress passes. He can try to influence that to some degree.

But there is not point in "fighting" with them. What is this "fight" supposed to be? a prize fight? a boxing match? a yelling and screaming argument? a debate?

Was Lieberman to be challenged to a duel? Was the President supposed to have a fight with Nelson? With Snowe?

11. That picture is so sweet,
Can you imagine being a little kid and what it would feel like to get to meet the President of the United States?
What memories that would be to tell your friends, and eventually your kids and grandkids. I love it!
