8. check w/me in2012 and we'll see how well either one of us 'gets' over it.
Seriously, wtf has spineless leadership through the dimson years and then the holy chant of compromise w/ a party that despised the very concept from a position of power that was achieved w/ a promise of change got you? a goddamn well deserved shellacking and kick in the ass from the electorate. Granted, some of it can be ascribed to big corporate money and malicious media, but a goodly portion comes because democrats just can't govern, seemingly.Believe me, I would rather see y'all in power than the GOPosse, but the overall effect just ain't much of difference to most people. War, jobs, civil rights? y'all don't even look like two sides of a coin so much these days.So I'll get over it when I see a bit of substantive change I *can* believe in. Until then the rest is just so much horseshit.

10. It's interesting
that the people most distraught by this election were those Democrats who believed voting should be used a tool to punish the Democratic Party. Reid and Pelosi losing would not have made things better.

Did you sleep through the 2008 election?

"Believe me, I would rather see y'all in power than the GOPosse"

How folksy! Who is "y'all"?

As for impeachment, it was a pipe fucking dream, and in 2012 my response will be the same: get over it.

4. we've all had these feelings...
but as far as getting things passed through the House - she's the best! She will protect what we have accomplished better than anyone else.

5. Thanks for trying diplomacy.
Most Democrats didn't want Pelosi and Reid to lose.

I haven't been here in a while, so not sure who/what to respond to. Feeling pretty heart sick actually.

Appreciate all your posts.

11. Agreed.
She did well and got a lot accomplished. How is it her fault that the blue dogs stymied house bills when they were passed to their chamber? Here's a big "Thank You!" for Speaker Pelosi. I can't wait to see how she handles the lame duck session. She is effective.

9. We need to play the hand we're dealt and stick together
The pontificating about what should have happened won't change what's going on today. The stakes are too high to promote division.

I'm done with party infighting, throwing babies out with bathwater, sacrificing the good for the perfect and whatever other expressions of the idea that no one is perfectly aligned with my POV. I am committed to working together with other dems in unity to oppose the conservative agenda.
