Excellent LTTE on the elections in today's Hartford (CT) Courant

Connecticut Voters Saw What Others Failed To

John Voaden bemoaned that voters in Connecticut failed to jump on the Republican bandwagon in Tuesday's election . But I think our state's voters proved to be smarter and more thoughtful than voters in other states.

Maybe Connecticut voters understood that President Barack Obama isn't really that crazed Marxist socialist but a centrist Democrat who has been working hard to get the economy back on its feet. Perhaps people realized his stimulus plan had put extra money in their pockets by means of a tax cut. Or had a family member who kept his job as a teacher, police or fireman, rather than being laid off. Or realized the health care bill would allow sons or daughters to stay on their health care plan until age 26.

4. So glad I moved back to CT from Arizona...
The dipshit brigade won big in Arizona this year, whereas in CT, every Democrat on the ballot I had won their elections.

6. Yes, it was very satisfying to see all the state-wide candidates I voted for win.
The local elections still went to Repubs but the state to all Dems. I can't complain.

7. Republicans picked up seats in the state houses
but, we have a Dem governor now, so the 2/3 majority isn't needed.
