Joe Scarborough:"I was stunned that the President in a Muslim country attacked Israel. Because the second I did this, I said this isn't going to be good for the peace talks and, sure enough, we're reading this morning that the peace talks in jeopardy . . . There's no doubt that the President criticizing Israel on a trip to a Muslim country he meant to send a signal to the Muslim world and he did. But he also sent a signal to Israel. And there won't be peace anytime soon . . .The President shouldn't have taken the bait in a Muslim country. Because his standing with the Israeli people is so low, to attack Israel while in a Muslim country about settlements is a bizarre thing to do."
I assumed that the President had lashed out and made some crazy intemperate remarks about Israel - maybe like the kinds of crazy, intemperate comments that are regularly made about him or about Muslims every day - so I eagerly awaited the clip containing his "attack" against Israel.
"This kind of activity (the settlements) is never helpful when it comes to peace negotiations. I'm concerned that we're not seeing each side make the extra effort involved to get a breakthrough."
That's it? Are you KIDDING me?! This is an "attack" on Israel? And what does the fact that he was in a MUSLIM country, as Carborough emphasized FIVE times in one breath, have to do with anything?
