EXPIRE. Even when the WH denied the HuffPo piece, they didn't deny the fact that they weren't willing to compromise on a temporary basis.

2. I think a more serious question is do you approve of extending all the tax cuts...

or none of them? That is, if the choice is between granting tax cuts for the wealthy or ending all of the tax cuts, what would you do? Because it may very well come down to that.

are not going to happen. I think I'd rather let them all lapse too, which means playing chicken with the GOP in the lame-duck Congress. Pass a bill for middle-class cuts only, and let the GOP stand in its way.

Do you support middle class tax cuts or the Bush tax cuts for the top 2%?

This thing is all about framing and the republicans want it to sound like democrats don't support any tax cuts at all.

8. Letting all the tax cuts expire might be the grownup option, but

if democrats don't even try for middle class tax cuts, republicans will again accuse/blame democrats for everyone's taxes going up. In 2012, a year after seeing their taxes go up because of democrats, people will go to the polls and vote for tax cutting republicans.

Democrats who want to be elected/reelected have to support middle class tax cuts and only middle class tax cuts...IMO.

It does not matter what we do. Most people will believe we increased taxes anyway. So we should just do our job and not worry about the rest.

And they might actually respect us more and be more inclined to vote for us if we would just do our fucking job.
