Don't Mourn, Organize-"Fight Even If You Cannot Win Today, and Someday You’ll Win without a Fight"
Don't Mourn, Organize

Hard not to be discouraged. The Work continues.

Here's something I came across this morning. It's a little long, but what else do we have to do, but read, think and plan for the change that has to come.

The drone wars and drone warriors have to be undone.

Rule 6: Keep It Human, Put People First

Maybe that ought to be Rule 1?

Here is something from Chelsea Green

Rule 4: Forget Sun Tzu: The Bigger the Fight, the Better the Odds; Fight Even If You Cannot Win Today, and Someday You’ll Win without a Fight

Politics may be the art of the possible, but often “realism” or, as Hillary Clinton put it, “reality-based politics” undermines the possibility of genuine political change based on an outside game. By “outside game,” I mean the notion that forces outside the Washington Beltway can move the insiders, based on the power of public opinion. Politicians tend not to believe or put much hope in the outside game unless the public’s sentiment is a clear and present danger for them. Rousing public opinion begins with a strategy to invite conflict.

mho some good stuff here!

2. Totally agree. I am thinking that I want to get back into lobbying at
the state level to try and keep my own state from tanking. Dayton is going to need the help against the idiots we sent to the state legislature. I will still work on the federal level and of course the local level but work we must.

When we needed to get schools set up for special education many of us parents stood on street corners selling hot dogs to make enough money to support the schools until we could prove that they do work. Today the school programs are being threatened and we are back to square one. But we are still parents and we will go continue to fight. I tell this because we may have to start over on many things.

I hate greedy people.

3. Wow The Progressives Guide to Raising Hell
by Jaime Court, looks like a good resource. Now is a perfect time to read up on potent ways of forcing powerful people to change their corrupt ways.

I liked hearing, for example, that collecting information is all important, while staying alert to exactly the right series of events to use this information. Also I liked reading that often a battle lost does not mean that the war is lost, that very often the effects of just fighting back can bring those issues to the front at a later more effective time (my words).

I am so encouraged to see more and more people waking up to what is going on behind the scenes, and now that we are awake, it is time to think of what can be done.

Pressuring people in office to do the right thing is not bashing them or disrespecting them, it is how politics works.
