1. Not necessarily...... Sarah may have had more watchers.
Your count does not count all the bears that were tuned in to 'watch Momma Grizzly eat salmon."

2.  Obama got 3 times as many viewers on a major network right after football
as Palin got on a network that most people can't even find. I'm not sticking up for Palin here, but I have to admit it's a pretty lousy comparison.

4. I think quite a few people know about TLC
With those freaky duggars and the sister wives soap opera.

10. Would you say it's more, less, or about the same as the number
of people who watched Obama's football lead in? A lot of people know about these people, I'll bet many don't even know the name of the network they're on.

I'm not trying to shit on Obama's "win" here, but comparing Obama's appearance on a show that's on a major network, is routinely in the top 25 in ratings and with just about the best lead-in you can get, with Palin's "wildlife" show on a cable channel might have some people asking why it was so close.

12. They have been advertising heavily for that Palin shit.......
Edited on Mon Nov-15-10 04:06 PM by FrenchieCat
for quite some time. Her daughter dances twice a week
(and she can't dance worth shit, but whatever),
on the most viewed show on television.

Obama got no advertisment for being on 60 minutes.
While Sarah Palin has been getting almost if not more coverage
than this President since the election.

If she farts, it makes the news.

Obama can go on a 10 day foreign trip,
and if he's gotten about 1 hour worth of coverage
when put all together, he's lucky....
understanding that of course, most of it would have been negative press.

But whatever.

19. Obama was on after football, and on a show that routinely finishes
at the top of the ratings. There's no amount of heavy advertising that's better than that. I'm not trying to piss on Obama's victory, but lets not read more into this then there is.

60 minutes had 15.1 million viewers week 1 of November, back in October, they were around 15 million viewers (for at least 1 week, I didn't look up all weeks), and they had 14.41 million back in September for the season premiere. Dancing with the Stars gets great ratings, as it did before Palin's daughter was on. Palin's show is new and has probably already seen the best ratings it will ever have.

5 million for TLC is actually really good. I think the John and Kate Plus 8 show once got 7 mill.

Best premiere in TLC history for "Alaska"

3. I realized something while watching a clip to her show
I really wish the travel channel would stop showing those clips. Anyways she is on to a new abstinence program. No boys upstairs. Maybe she can start preaching that one to the American youth.

6. Are you suggesting that we just extend Obama's Presidency to eight years?
because Sarah Palin is a poor candidate.

Sara Palin might not be the candidate that Obama faces. It might be someone like Donald Trump.

Donald Trump 'seriously' considering running for president in 2012
Last Updated: 11:56 AM, October 5, 2010

Donald Trump said today he's "seriously" considering running for the presidency in 2012.

"For the first time in my life, I'm actually thinking about it ," Trump told Fox News Channel. He added, "I see what's going on with this country and it's never been worse. What's happening is a disgrace."

"The Apprentice" host cited what he called the "unfair" trade relationship between America and China and the administration's inability to utilize the country's top business talent in trade negotiations as his main reasons for mulling a run.

Trump: No Governor, But Maybe President
Tuesday, January 03, 2006

Trump, a Republican, said he had been "inundated with calls" from GOP leaders since state Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno (R-Rensselaer) suggested last week that "The Apprentice" star might run for governor.
snip
a political figure close to Trump told The Post, "Donald is definitely interested in running for president in 2008, possibly as an independent candidate."

15. While I agree that Trump is just saying this for publicity ...
I have talked to a number of people who say that they would vote for him.

Of course, you also realize that if your idea about bypassing the election in 2012 and allowing Obama to have eight years in office actually happened, you would have a bloody revolution to deal with.

But to have the nerves to tell me about an idea that I haven't had....
claiming that I've had it, makes you quite shameless....I'll give you that.

14. You really can't compare CBS to TLC
If all I have are rabbit ears on my TV set I can get CBS. But TLC needs cable and even then not every cable package includes TLC. Five million is pretty high numbers for a cable channel.

16. CNN's Jessica Yellin just reported Palin's show as "ratings gold."
Edited on Mon Nov-15-10 04:34 PM by jenmito
She said it "blew away TLC's ratings history" and added that she got "more voters than are in Iowa and Hew Hampshire combined." She seemed thrilled to report that. :eyes:

How many to mock and scorn her?

I would venture at least half.

Comparing BROADCAST numbers to those of BASIC CABLE mean nothing. There are enough REAL stats that point to the fact that palin is a loser , so no need to use such faulty logic.
