I am coming around like many to the reality that there really is no option except to go medieval on those who's goal is to cripple the president of the United States. I don't mean Bin laden or the Taliban, I mean a large part of our newly elected congress. This is not a hidden enemy, this is a group whose overt mission is a set-up for 2012.

It's against the intellectual compass of many, however it is clear that a large part of the current elected base has only one thing in mind - defeating our current President at any cost. I am afraid olive branches and white house coffees only result in extra kindling wood and caffeine migraines. The high road is a super highway to one term. I believe Obama is smart enough to out maneuver this attack, but his actions will need to include a constant vigilant demonstration of his powers, both constitutional and forcefulness. I think it would be better to lose fighting with zeal than be becoming another icon shown alongside those wearing ill-fitting helmets riding around in a tank. Obama came in to office with a tidal wave of support that may have expected too much after almost a decade of fail. Getting that support back requires both action and forcefulness, both of which his enemy's intend to grind to a halt for the next 24 months.

I say have a nice White House get together and invite all of them at Obama's convenience. Then bring out the Gimp, and tell them, here's Johnny...

1. I keep thinking eventually the public will "get it" re: the Repukes.

But I've seen no evidence yet. It's just sad.
