the WH like he has no election in 2012. I hope he is bold and focused on protecting HCR and Financial Reform. If this is all he has as a legacy it is a great one. I suspect he will get reelected if he doubles down and takes no crap from the GOP. But he needs to start now! Who is with me?

5. Indeed!
People who think that the President is simply going to fall to pieces at this point, or declare that he has no hope of clawing his way back, forget both their history, and what we have seen of the 44th POTUS thus far - which has certainly not been all bad.

Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, and Truman all found themselves two years into their presidencies in positions just as bad or worse than the one that Obama finds himself in today. Two years after that, they were the ones who were laughing, while their opponents looked like fools. And I for one have every confidence that our current President is just as politically capable as any of them.
