Sarah Palin is getting boring!

Posted Tuesday, November 23, 2010 1:34 PM | By David Weigel
This should make the people I was out with last night very happy:

Sarah Palin lost almost half of her premiere audience in the second airing of her TLC reality series Sarah Palin's Alaska. On Sunday, the series executive produced by Mark Burnett, drew 3 million viewers. That is down 40% from the 5 million who tuned in for the debut last Sunday. In adults 18-49, Palin averaged 885,000, down 45% and also posted a similar decline, 46%, in adults 25-54.

As Nellie Andreeva reports, this isn't the norm for successful cable shows the way big drop-offs are the norm for blockbuster films. AMC's The Walking Dead has shocked everyone (and pleased me) by staying strong around 5 million viewers. There was some conservative red state-beats-blue-state gloating over the fact that Palin's show had twice the ratings of Mad Men; it's now got 19 percent higher ratings.

doin' what they "love to do." However, at some point in the show, it's revealed that it's their first trip to XYZ, or their first adventure of the sort.

I turned it off this week when she engaged in animal cruelty by beating a large fish over the head with a club. Sorry fisher people. I'm a softie when it comes to animal suffering, and I found that repulsive.

Palin is a producer. I'm sure she gets to edit anything she feels is unflattering, out. Yep, boring. :boring:

20. I haven't watched at all,
but I would think showing fish-bashing is gratuitous violence. Yes, you have to bonk them in the head to kill them (or shoot them if they're really big) but it's not necessary to show it.

7. Time for her to play the victim again, I guess
Whenever interest in her wanes, she usually manufactures a crisis.
The Corporate media inevitably take the bait, and -- voila! -- she's back in the news again.

about not thinking/referring to/whatnot anything Palin. However, I saw this coming a fucking MILE AWAY. It's called morbid curiosity and that.was.it. Nobody cares. :boring:

10. "GETTING boring"????
She's always been boring; an uneducated, shallow, woman, interested only in her own super ego and success, with a totally dysfunctional family. I feel sorry for her children; if the media would quit mentioning her every utterance we could easily forget about her.

15. If MSNBC Would Just Quit Mentioning Her
I'd be happy!

but, the morning/daytime crowd over there at "Lean Forward" has made it unwatchable by mentioning Palin or her daughter constantly.

17. Honest question about hunting and fishing
I don't do either and have never really been around people who do so I have no idea.

Do people who fish/hunt normally rip out the heart of the living catch and like to hold it in they hands while it is still beating?

Maybe it is a stupid question, but I think that was just barbaric, but then again, I don't hunt/fish.

21. Wasn't she complaining....
...about how she and her family don't get their privacy. Well, maybe viewers are respecting her desire for privacy by not watching that stupid piece of crap reality show.
