Let's all pretend that George W Bush is no longer the President and Dick Cheney is no longer torturing people. Let's pretend that we can finally get back to "normal".

Let's pretend that Barack Obama could not fix the problems created by Bush and the corporatists and that is why the people put the Republicans back in charge of the House 3 weeks ago.

Let's pretend that the economy is finally on sound footing and that Santa Claus is going to be much nicer to everyone this Christmas.

Let's pretend that we are no longer a war-mongering nation despised around the world and that we are withdrawing troops from every occupied country.

Let's pretend that the "Baby Boomers" who mostly paid for Social Security for the "Greatest Generation" will now get to retire in a similar manner and not be referred to as the "greediest generation".

Let's pretend that our children and grandchildren will have a much better America to live in than we did and that the middle class will continue to grow in the future.

Let's pretend that we will have politicians that will speak up for us against the greedy corporations that operate freely within the new world economy.

Let's pretend to be optimistic in the face of fascism and economic deterioration.

Let's pretend that we now can go to a doctor if we get sick and that medicine will be much cheaper than before the reform passed by our politicians.

Let's pretend we live in a different world than the real one and that everyone does not want to be a millionaire or figure out a way to steal another dollar from you.

Let's pretend cynicism is just a disease to be treated by society and the media conglomerates.
