3. Eh, the stuff Wikileaks released is things we pretty much guessed about already.

Assange has a bit of an ego. The govt. is mostly overly freaking out. Really, I don't get the interest in this at all. Are any of the leaks really that shocking to anyone?

It could be that the sheer volume of information being leaked is the real story. There are actual people behind these leaks. And the more they leak, the more emboldened others will be to do the same.

7. There already was a Mormon leak on the old Wikileaks site...

It was a distorted audio recording of a Mormon "sealing" (eternal spiritual marriage) ritual, that is a closely-guarded secret in the Mormon church, not open to outsiders. I don't recall the specifics, but I remember thinking how creepy it was at the time.
