For all of the anger and disappointment you feel, what do you plan to do?
What's your plan of ACTION?

Sit on your hands?

Complain?

Complain some more, most likely online?

What concrete steps will you actually take to truly tackle what you see wrong?

2. I"m biding my time, my dear Writer...
Till the primaries come along for the next Presidential election.

And while I'm waiting, I will keep track of what Obama does about the issues that matter to me.

I expect to see him continue to veer rightward and this I cannot support.

If I see a primary challenger worthy of my support, I will support that person.

And in the General Election, I will vote for the Democratic candidate, no matter who it is.

6. Nothing but look for a new hero to "deliver the change we were promised."
When you really look at a lot of posts, you see an astounding passivity. No desire to be involved in the political process, just the desire to a "strong leader" to force everything they need through Congress somehow, make Congress irrelevant, just get them what they need.

10. Here's my plan:
Edited on Tue Nov-30-10 01:19 AM by MrsCorleone
I'm going to complain about every single solitary piece of legislation signed by the President, no matter how essential to long-term progressive goals, being stepping stones and all. I won't stop there, though. I will lurch mindlessly and wage all out blogosphere wars at the mere whisper of any "insult" (real, imagined or manufactured) directed at the Left by the Administration. I'm fully aware that joining the masses, egged on by the MSM-GOP-PR firms, in Dem and Obama bashing will most likely result in complete Republican rule come 2012, via progressive voter malaise and discouragement, but at least I will feel like I stood solid on my Principles(TM). That's what's most important, right?

12. Apart from people taking to the streets, there is nothing else. Same
old, trust me, I know!

When push come to shove for people to protest, they stay home. Who wants to be teargassed? Was never the majority who have been fighting for what they believe in, it was always the minority! The majority was always in power and step by step, the minorities are gaining ground but not enough!

13. What were you doing a decade ago?
One piece I'll tell you is that I'm sure not going to talk about it in detail here.

Well, another piece. I've been doing at least parts of it for some forty years.

And I'm not disappointed. I'm one of the ones you were probably calling a nutjob conspiracy theorist for telling folks a decade ago that we were digging the foundations and setting the steel beams in place for this particular tower of Babel.

Seriously - if someone had told you in the year 2000, that within ten years you'd have a choice: either have to get groped, under your clothes, by rapists and perverts, or have pornographic x-rays taken of you, in order to fly from Chicago to Philadelphia, you would have been ready and willing to start working with them politically to stop it, right?

Well, this is what you get for waiting.

21. Why do you say the OP assumes you are doing nothing?
He asks questions about what you are doing? Do you know the difference between an assumption and a question?

The OP assumes something about angry and disappointment and that is it.

25. I disagree...
if you are in the act of doing something, likely it is part of a plan you are carrying out.

For example, I PLAN on purchasing a home next year, so I am doing some market research right now. Haven't bought it, and still planning on buying it.

I don't think the OP intended it as a statement that people aren't doing anything.

16. Push for a primary challenge
I will tell everyone I know that Obama doesn't deserve a second term and that we need a new Democratic challenger. I personally persuaded at least a dozen Republicans to vote for him in 2008--won't make that mistake again!!

And I will be watching your reactions from time to time--eventually, you might run out of rationalizations. Or weep with shock and horror along with the rest who didn't figure it out until it was too late.

19. Something... not sure what yet
Something involving trying to educate folks on how badly they're getting fucked: for example, the effective tax rate for the rich has dropped by two-thirds since the 1950s, while taxes on the middle class have doubled.

28. If you stop paying attention to politics, you won't be hoarding...
guns, ammo, & seeds. The only thing that could get people to think all day is following the daily histrionics of the far right and left fringes of political commentary. It's not that bad out there.

26. Just muddle through!
I can't see myself either staying at home & not voting or voting 3rd party or (god forbid) voting repig (which I have never, never, never done!!!). I'll probably just belly ache & bitch a lot and then go vote Democratic. It DOES piss me off royally that some of these Asshat Dems just sit the fuck around, expecting our vote, and frankly I feel that way about our asshole President, although we're stuck with him for now, so we may as well make the best of it!

29. I plan on running for MN state representative in 56B.

I was narrowly defeated by less than 200 votes in the city elections out of 34,000 votes. So ,I am going to take down the Republican incumbent in 2 years. That's what I am going to do!!

Heretic Wack. :0)

30. Funny you should bring this up...
I was out walking to lunch today and had the strangest thought: WHY NOT research what it takes to run for Senate and make it happen?? The media is still in love with outsider fringe-y candidates, and if jokers like Rand FUCKING Paul can actually get voted into the U.S. Senate, why wouldn't I have a chance??

Well, it was just a thought...

33. There really isn't anything you CAN do. Short of full on bloody revolution.
And that will never happen. This game has been over for a long time now. The 1%ers won, the people lost and many of them are happy about it, the damn fools. "They" own everything that matters and can continue to exploit us at will. No one will stop them, our government is a sham.
