wage freeze is better than a hiring freeze, which is what Boehner and Republicans are promoting. A hiring freeze could pass (after January) with the help of conservative Dems. Frankly, the backlash to the wage freeze is a perfect counter to the Republicans' plan.

Both links are to National Review.

In states around the country, public employees are being furloughed or laid off. Retaining jobs and additional opportunities are much better options.
