6. I think he still believes the GOP is really interested in solving America's problems
rather than just playing politics...I hate to think that, but I am afraid he still believes it.

11. shrub reached out to democrats on quite a number of occassions
but he never strayed from right-wing republican priorities in getting one or two votes from (usually right-of-center) democrats.

bipartisanship is a moderate or non-left/right plan that appeals to values and principles and priorities that transcend party, or that have enough good in them to appeal to both parties.

WHAT PASSES AS BIPARTISANSHIP these days is a HIGHLY PARTISAN plan that results in anything other than a 100% pure party-line vote. if lieberman or nelson votes with the republicans, everyone pretends that's enough to make it bipartisan.

10. And Obama and Nancy don't go on teevee to refute that new meme, so
republican donors everywhere are laughing their asses off at the democratic patsies.

This whole country is making me sick.

12. No clue what you're talking about.
I missed that bit of partisan spittle, I guess.

On the other hand, I still hold to my observation from psychology. New students often assume they can tell what another will think is a good reward or punishment and have to force themselves to accept that the status of something as a reward or punishment rests entirely with the recipient. It's a tough lesson to be taught in ed psych classes. I don't think they teach it in law school.
