It's helpful to think of Congress as a corporation. They don't really serve their customers. They serve their shareholders. If a corporate business is bad, you can stop shopping there. They may feel the pinch relatively quickly and do something shallow to convince you that their aim is true in order to buy some time and avoid taking a loss in the next quarter. Congress doesn't operate on a quarterly basis. If what they do upsets you, it doesn't really matter. At least not for the time being.

They'll do something shallow near election time to convince you to re-elect them. But until then, your complaints and your feedback are worse than meaningless.
