C-Span 1PM: RNC debate. Michael Steele against the four candidates now running to replace him.
Monday, Jan. 3

Michael Steele squares off with the four candidates running to replace him as chairman of the Republican National Committee during a debate at the National Press Club in Washington sponsored by the Daily Caller website, Americans for Tax Reform and the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List.

In a sign that Mr. Steele isn’t the frontrunner to keep the job, many of his competitors have trained their fire on Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin who leads the field in public commitments.

Gentry Collins, the former RNC political director whose resignation sparked a windfall of Steele criticism, withdrew from the race on Sunday.

1. It probably doesn't matter who has that position because all the money they need will come from
corporations, thanks to the SC decision. All they need is a bomb thrower to keep the tea baggers happy.

4. You know, I've never been a fan of Republicans.
But this subject line right here just makes me sad. Grover Norquist is in to introduce potential leaders of the Republican Party. I never liked Republicans, but I can remember a time when there were those I respected.
