After seeing this today, I don't think I could. The republican love fest going on is sickening.

1. it will swing back again soon.
Not worried that these guys will be able to impress most Americans. We'll have two years of no progress in the House, then the Dems will be back. Obama's in the WH so it's still fine.

I do wish I could have seen those snowballs thrown at Bush&Co motorcade though. That was shocking.

10. Every inauguration is a "love fest" and I've never watched a single one.
Spend the money on something beneficial, and I don't care of it's mostly financed by political backers. Spend the money on something beneficial.

I guess my answer is no, no matter who gets elected for any office.

If you were a New England Patriots fan, it would be like watching reruns of the Giants fans celebrating after their team kicked the Patriots' asses in Super Bowl XLII.

if it isn't, then I won't. The offical day is Sunday but often they take a quick oath on Sunday and then do the rest of the stuff on Monday.

17. Of course I'll watch!
I've watched every inauguration since Nixon's.
My dad said at the time that I had to watch, because this man was going to screw up the country.

I also try to watch every State of the Union Address (although I've missed a few).
During one of Dubya's, Sweetie and I took out a copy of Finnegan's Wake and whenever Dubya said something bizarre, we would randomly select a passage from Joyce.

"Moyle ahoynkaling!" made about as much sense as whatever came out of Georgie's mouth that night...

20. I do not recognize the authority of any republican
The republican party became illegitimate during the coup of 2000.
I do not recognize the authority or legitimacy of any republican at any level.
I wouldn't listen to these creeps any more than I would a Member of Mussolini's fascists or Hitler's Nazis.
They're all cut from the same war criminal cloth.

24. Absolutely not. Just like I didn't watch either of w's (lower case on
purpose). I was in downtown L.A. protesting during '01 & '05. The thought of a repug. getting in again totally sickens me.

25. I never watched 2004 - simply followed what people posted on DU JK
I couldn't stand the thought that Kerry had to sit there - and know the camera's would show him as Bush was renominated. Then to have the NYT praise the inaugural address where Bush spoke of spreading democracy as the reason for Iraq -- something he denied through 2003 and 2004 - and to have no one say "that wasn't the reason you gave America"> This was when he (and likely a large part of the media) still hoped that the Middle east could be greatly improved by every country wanting to become the democracy that Iraq became.

This time the lies would be more on the economy - but they will be lies - and NO I won't watch, but there is much reason to hope America will see through the tea party by then.

34. No. I don't even watch the national news any more. When we have a republican
president, I just ignore politics till we have a Democratic one...and in many cases, I ignore them, too...I ignored most of the Clinton administration, for example, and all 8 years of the Bush II regime.

I don't understand why I am so interested in this politics bullshit right now, really...maybe just making up for lost time till I burn out again?
