This year, we can say with some certainty that there will be a sizable GOP field, but the fact remains that not one has begun campaigning in earnest. How come?

Publicly, they're filled with bravado -- Obama misread the public, Obama's agenda has been rejected, Obama's outside the mainstream, yada yada yada. But behind closed doors, I have to wonder if some of these folks pause to appreciate the fact that they've thrown the kitchen sink at the president, and despite all kinds of problems, Obama's approval rating is still 50% -- and climbing.

Does that give some would-be presidential candidates pause? I'd be surprised if it didn't.

3. Getting picked on makes him an underdog,
and this country loves underdogs. Bush was so picked on and made fun of and he still got a second term. And when they lose, it's a case of "Oh how the mighty have fallen."

5. I think the public has "buyers remorse" after seeing who is entering office.
Congressman Issa was suspected of an arson. The case has never been solved.

Let's face it, the economy is slowly pulling itself up. Probably won't be long before the Republican House decides that growing economy is a threat to their coup attempt in 2012 and will move from the inaction that constitutes their political theater to a fevered pace of legislation that is corporate friendly and designed to bring the economy to its knees once again.

7. They can't beat the genuine article. Even dissenters on DU can not get the majority to
see their side, we see right through their false George Bush equivalency like the right vs left punditry.

Obama will prevail over naysayers because he just keeps governing and ignores the noise.

The GOTP has a long list of losers, and that's it. Mittens lost already, and he's their best chance.
