The Gov. Scott Walker tape clearly reveals the GOP grand plan: American Plutocracy
Edited on Wed Feb-23-11 11:05 PM by RBInMaine
I have listened to all 20 minutes of the phone tape where Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin gave 20 minutes to whom he thought was billionaire right winger David Koch. I strongly urge everyone to listen to it and pass it on. What Walker reveals most vividly is that he and his party are tools of the corporate ultra-rich AND that their grand plan is to destroy working America and create nothing short of an American Plutocracy ENTIRELY run and controlled by the rich and the super rich. Not that this is really "news" to us on forums like DU, but this is GREAT smoking gun evidence of it for everyone else. He talks about how this WI bill to destroy union collective bargaining was a "plan" with a final strategy session before "dropping the bomb." He acknowledges that Wisconsin is to be the first "domino" to fall in this grand national plan to destroy unions and that he is so glad Ohio, Florida, and many other states with new Republican governors are contemplating the same plan and/or taking steps to do the same thing. He says that Reagan's finest moment was when he fired the air traffic controllers and that this was the start of "ending communism and taking down the Berlin wall."

Walker sees himself as a messianic TeaPublican whose mission it is to lead a great national movement to destroy unions and make sure the rich and very rich control everything. It has NOTHING to do with budgeting. It has EVERYTHING to do with carrying out radical right wing ideology. It is their world view. It is their grand plan. They believe in it like a religion.
And they see this as their great moment to do it.

The 2010 elections were a travesty. Too many economically-frustrated, under-informed citizens thought they were voting for pragmatic "reform" and "jobs". What they got was radical TeaPublican ideology, and now the middle class, the working class, and the poor are under assault. Teachers and other public workers are under assault. Everything from PBS to Planned Parenthood is under assault.

Yes, Walker shows how immoral and unethical he is in this tape, but it's real value is that it exposes the GOP ideology and worldview up close and unfiltered, and it is one hell of a scary prospect. The best thing that can come of this is a renewed and re-energized commitment by progressives to build a media infrastructure and learn how to frame a message that both exposes and tears down the selfish, corrupt, and horridly unfair GOP worldview in favor of ours which is about being each other's keeper and making sure we have a nation of, by, and for the PEOPLE and not just the rich and super rich. It should also result in a renewed commitment to engage in the political process and pound the living crap out of these corrupt GOP radical wingnuts in 2012.

8. And here a short article that has a summary of some of what was said

Top Six Revelations in the Call Between Fake David Koch and Governor Scott Walker
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jesse-berney/walker-koch_b_827129.html

p.s. But you should really listen to the whole 20 minute tape.
There's A LOT in there, a lot more than what's in the short summary above.
