If I were Obama.....

I would run an end run around their offense and spike one on their asses.

I would encourage progressives to kill the HCR bill in the congress and literally dump the whole 2000 pages in the trash can.
Then I would ask for prime time air time and make a speech that says this....

"I am announcing today that I am issuing an executive order to the HHS department to allow anyone that qualifies as low income to buy into medicare regardless of age."

The yells of unconstitutional and communist would be deafening, but they could not stop it....and suddenly Obama would become a populist.
It is not unconstitutional and has been done before for other perposes....and they already are calling him a communist so there is nothing to loose and everything to gain.

But it won't. I have completely lost hope in our government. We are screwed. It is going to take something like a violent revolution to change anything.

5. Boy, I can't tell you how much I hope that wish is granted.

I am so depressed over this whole healthcare thing and the economy and just everything. I guess I got my hopes up too high.
I'm hoping violence like what happened against the French aristocracy won't be needed - because you are right, that would be awful for everyone - but I have a sinking feeling that violence on a small scale (think of the struggles the workers had in forming unions, the miners strikes, etc.) might be necessary for anything to happen. Class warfare has been going on for decades against the 99.9% of us and we have to fight back somehow. I hope we can fight and win without violence but I am so pessimistic right now and so depressed....

But it happens when we loose control.
And the reason why it is never necessary is because we outnumber them greatly.
And having power in numbers is what we should be using.

And this is all depressing but we must not let it disengage us.

8. You know I have had the feeling since almost the start

of his presidency that someone sat him down, with a gun to his head at least figuratively if not literally, and told him, "this is the way it's going to be." I get the feeling someone else is running things, the same people who were behind Cheney/Bush. I see in President Obama a feeling of anger, defeat, hopelessness, that he didn't have in his eyes before he was elected. I truly think someone is pulling his strings, that he is being blackmailed or threatened.

Anyway just my crazy theory I guess.

I have felt that for years....it kind of came to me one time when I was watching Jimmy Carter being interviewed bo someone and the interviewer asked what surprised him most about being president, and he answered "I was surprised by how little power the president has"
And Carter has an expressive face that is easy for me to read and there was something dark there.

But they are probably the powerfully rich that sit on the boards of directors of many corporations, most of which are part of the military industrial complex and have control over our military.
But that is all just a guess because their bubble is far removed from the rest of us.

How do we change things?
Through non co-operation with evil.
And it will take time and cost many of us a lot to do it, but I see no other way.
