This is for any lurking wingnuts trumpeting the "You see? The details of the op have been changed!" meme. See, when you're in a situation where you might very well get killed, guess what? Your focus is actually not on minute details of what's happening.

Okay, turns out bin Laden didn't fire, the woman may or may not have been his wife, the SEALS didn't repel down, but stepped out of the choppers on the ground. What of it?

One of the many problems with neoCon Artists is that virtually NONE of them has ever served in the military, let alone combat. Anyone who has (like my dad in WWII) could tell you that, in such situations, you almost NEVER get everything exactly right on the first debriefing.

1. Is it gauche to kick one's own thread?
I've seen a few longtime DUers, ah, DUing it, so I guess it's kosher.

2. Reality is. None of them should have been answering questions

until they got the full story from the SEALS. Until they were debriefed no one should have been answering questions

3. Yes, but then there's the 24/7 news cycle
There would've been a riot if the press had had to wait till all the debriefings were over, though I agree with you that that's the way it OUGHT to be.
