Elizabeth Warren

Will the President do the right thing and appoint her?

I hope so.

6. What has she done to suggest she'd be a good President?
That's a lot different from running an admin agency. If just being a liberal qualified somebody, Michael Dukakis would have been President. Or Dennis Kucinich.

I like Warren, but President? Come on.

It would have been nice to have a liberal president.

14. has she done something to suggest she wouldn't?
she, unlike many of our current elected Democratic officials, understands the plight of the middle class and how it happened...

I would call that a good start

4. He can't. The Senate Repubs. are going to stay in pro-forma session meaning they won't
adjourn, so it won't officially be "recess."

9. Senate Republicans can't hold pro-forma sessions, Democrats have to agree to them
They also can't filibuster adjournment, they can only block the unanimous consent request so that Senators have to have a recorded vote on adjournment. They also can't simply have the House block an adjournment resolution because the Senate can recess for 3 days or less without consent of the House.

All of this is to say that if Senate Democrats are on board, Obama can appoint Elizabeth Warren with a recess appointment (and I think he will). I just don't see any reason to do it over Memorial Day when half the country is on vacation and not paying attention.

10. I think they're trying to convince her to run against Scott Brown
If she absolutely refuses then I think they will actually force a recess (which they can do) and he will appoint her.

13. yes, I heard that too. sounds like a good idea to me.
I hope she goes for it. I think she could win. She has the cred and background and Brown is flailing.

11. I got tired of her "deer in the headlights" routine.
She went onto talk show after talk show talking about her ignorance.

I was not impressed.

Initially, it seemed honest and refreshing.

A few weeks later, it was just intellectually lazy, or ineffectual.
