I have a fantastic idea!!!!
Sure seems like allot of Americans/DUers are unhappy with their president. I'll trade you - one slightly oily and rather dull Steven Harper straight up for Barack Obama. We will happily take him off your hands since so many are so deeply distraught. You can have Stevie and his Copenhagen War room busting embarrassment.

Steven Harper would love your style of Health Care - he really would - and we could teach Barack a thing or two about the benefits of universal health care. You won't be wanting or wishing to hear any hopeful messages coming out of Stevie's mouth - but he will put you to sleep, after annoying you.

And to make this deal even better - we will even take back Celine Dion....but you have to keep William Shatner.

6. Yes, please take anyone who dissents against Dear Leader!
But if you take Obama, be careful. He seems to be carrying a whole lot of people up his ass.

11. You can have Keith Olberman. He can't do anything but spew pious
arrogant rants, but he's all yours!

We'll throw in Dean for good measure.

13. Yet history will show Dean and Olbermann to be right,
And you to be a pseudo-Lib.

Unless of course you can point to ONE anti-progressive thing Dean or Olbermann have said or done?

12. Exactly anyone following Harper will know how dramatically regressive Harper has turned out to be...
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 12:13 AM by ProgressOnTheMove
There is a stark difference to where we were a year ago and a few carry on like once some have driven him out office we'll be in a far better place. WTF, like I know it's been 12 months but don't you remember how scary each day was under Republicans do folks really in truly want that back. I personally don't and I'm doing all I can to help make this work that's our best shot not never-ending critique that by driving down his polling figure means he has to cater to the right. Let's get real please. I'd love it if we really did have genuine options and say hey there are lots of electable progressives out there we'll shop around, well that's not the real world and all we can do is make this Presidency work as best we can then if Republicans do return to office we can do all the dissect all the wrongs and rights from there, but realistically we don't have the luxury of talking ourselves out of any progress or power. Now sure progressive radio and journals have their place to do the opinion of what Congress is doing they're only being real with us, but someone at the same time has to promote the successes that's where the one who still have faith in turning this around come in. We can push them, call them take out all our angst direct to representatives letting us down and encourage, the ones that are helping us. Definitely the Congress deserves more of our ire at this point and that is where the anger is best targeted, but mostly to the members who are trying to work against us, and praise for the ones helping. Naomi Klein says it's all Marketing she's completely right we keep his figures healthy and the President can afford to stand in our corner.

All I'm saying is let's be constructive than destructive, the GOP have perfected that philosophy, let's not become what we most dislike. Don't take setbacks as a motivation to give in but an inspiration to drive even harder. If folks really want to disengage from the Democratic party that's cool then a wiser use of donation money is towards move on and daily kos who will always work in our favor.
