If Obama was bought off by campaign donations remember his number one donor
Edited on Sat Dec-19-09 05:07 PM by NJmaverick
Obama received $119 million from genuine small donors

That's right if President Obama is financially beholden to anyone, it's the American people, not any corporation or interest.

1. Wall Street helped him out also.
If you go back in Hx, you will find that the formation and
rise of DLC was based on our party becoming much more PRO-Business.

Unfortunately, it has taken this long for many to begin
to get her their heads around exactly what it means to be
a Pro-Business Democrat.

Yes, Rank and File Dems gave generously to Obama Campaign. It
is now obvious who holds the power.

As with most Democrats when put to the crunch, they throw
the people under the bus in order to appease their Corportate
Friends. This is at the root of the anger being expressed.

2. I have seen people claim a few hundred thousand bought off our President
don't you think the 190 million from small donors and the 210 million from bigger private donors has more power?

3. It is not about the Amount of Money. It is about the Power Businesses
and Wall Street exercise.

If Wall Street had not given Obama the nod, he could never
have become a serious candidate.

This is not criticism of Obama. We have a corrupt system.
Unfortunately all the ugliness of the system is being
opened up at this time.

4. I think people have power as well, as they are the ones that vote
business can only manipulate the people, in the end.

5. Why did the people who supported Obama get the shaft.
First told--No Single Payer.

Then no PO--then no Medicare Expansion.

Most Rational People including w Potter, Former Ins. Exec.turned
whistle blower explained today: The Insurance Companies got
everything they wanted.

Business getting everything their way and the donors being told
to take it--"we do not get everything we want" is a clear indication
that Business has power.

We have never exercised our power. Sit out one election in Mass
and your vote will begin to count. Continue to roll over and
accept the crumbs and there is no way you can claim power.

6. It seems to me Obama is doing the best he is able given the situation in Congress
Boxer and Franken and President Clinton and Paul Krugman and Sen Kirk and Senator Nelson and Senator Sanders and Sen Rockefeller are all saying this is still a bill worth supporting.

7. that's true
He thought he could get more out of Congress than it turns out he can.

But I do think he is trying to do his best for the people, and don't buy any of the :tinfoilhat: stuff around here about "buying off."
