President Obama saved Private Sector employment that had been decimated
under the republican policies from 2001 to 2008.

No amount or turning the page to look at those statistics is going to make it change. President Obama saved the private sector.

It had been demolished..he even saved the car companies and the union jobs that went with it.

During the 8 years of George Bush..private job sector creation was near zero

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/0...jobs-bush/

"As the Wall Street Journal noted in the last month of Bush’s term, the former president had the “worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records.” And job creation under Bush was anemic long before the recession began. Bush’s supply-side economics “fostered the weakest jobs and income growth in more than six decades,”

Republicans took 2/3 of the governorships in 2010 and proceeded to attack public sector jobs to give themselves something to run on. They did this with the help of a tea party backed by the same oligarchs who had ruined private sector jobs.

The result has been a depressed job sector that they can try and run on.

On Thursday President Obama, turn your vision to the Public Sector and job growth there. Use charts if you need to.. what ever it takes.. Go for the gold.

No matter what you put up, the republicans are going to stand in your way.

There is only one cure to save the public sector.. we need to oust the republicans.

Give the American people something to fight them with. We are more than ready

1. did we forget to put on our thinking caps today?

Wait, did we forget to put on our thinking caps today?

If the Reps can in 2010 take partial control of the govt and actively depress the job sector in less than 1 year, then why can't Obama solve the job problem when he has been in office for 2.5+ years, had total control of the govt for 2 years, and controls the WH and the Senate this year?

The economy is too large to turn on a dime.

2. My hat is not on so tight.. that when you cut the public sector jobs
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 11:22 AM by Peacetrain
you are going to see a huge effect on the employment numbers.

No matter how hard you try to muddy the waters.. facts are there.

We have had an increase in private sector employment even with the corporations sitting on their keisters.

In fact it has been small companies who have been hiring..not the big boys.

So if you have a vested self interest group looking to use what ever they can..including dumping public employees to get a different jobs outlook..you can do that over night.

But getting them back into jobs takes time.

I hope the President comes out with a monster infrastructure proposal we can run against the republicans

4. So how does cutting government jobs account for the fact that
there are 2 million FEWER private sector than in 2000?

8. The premise of the article is incorrect
Yes, facts are facts.

Look at the graph in post #6. Remember the election was in Nov 2010 and the Reps didn't come into office until after Nov 2010. Since the election, public sector jobs have slowly declined but the major loss of public sector jobs occured before the election.

You cannot blame the Reps for the loss of public sector jobs when the Democrats had control of the WH and congress.

The numbers - the facts - are what they are. Even if they are painful and don't fit the desired politics.

Here is a more recent graph.

3. You have no concept on the way Congress runs.
You need to go back to high school when they taught government classes and learn something.

9. Poor dodge of the issue

See post #8.

And my initial question still stands. For the article to be correct (its not), it implies the Reps can do (drive the job numbers) in 8 months and with only control of the House, what the Democrats could not do in 2 years with total control of the WH and Congress.

Thats doesn't make sense and I don't believe it.
