Deja Vu: Reagan campaigned on budget deficit. (then tripled it!)
Edited on Fri Sep-02-11 01:19 PM by Democrats_win
Over the past months we've heard nothing from the "Tea/Unemployment Party big mouths" but talk about the deficit. The last time these big mouths talked about the deficit was when liar Reagan ran for president.

He said that if America's families can sit around the kitchen table and balance their budget then SO SHOULD THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. (He said that last part louder as if clueless movie stars knew anything about us.) Surprise, his comment was a lie: American families had loans for their homes and car loans. But the government could help these families deal with their financial worries. His argument was actually a straw-man argument: come on, families are NOT equal to the federal government!

Instead of worrying about the debt, Reagan immediately instituted massive and permanent tax cuts for his rich movie star friends and crooked corporate cronies. Then his advisers said--wait, this might cause a larger deficit so we need to raise taxes.

Who did they raise taxes on? those very families that he USED in his campaign. For example he took away their ability to take off the interest they paid on car loans. Then his Greenspan commission raised taxes for Social Security that were taken out of our pay.

Never forget, you can't trust Republicans. Voting Republican is like a dog eating it's own vomit.
