2008 - there were days when it felt less cantankerous and spiteful

4. I have a question
Once the president is named nominee of the party for the general election, will personal bashing of him (not policy disagreement, but empty phrases like "corporate sellout," "weak," "traitor," "no difference," etc.) be allowed here?

8. I take it ...
you think that everyone thinks like you, and is unwilling to vote for the current president. The facts simply don't support that at this moment. Three-fourths of all Democrats do NOT want a primary. (Compare that to 1994, when two-thirds of all Democrats DID want to primary Bill Clinton. Of course, nobody challenged him, and he won his election handily.)

I had nothing to give up on. I knew from the beginning no one was stupid enough (except a stupid person perhaps) to challenge the incumbent. They'd never win the primary, and they'd never be able to raise enough money, and they'd appeal only to that tiny slice who thought someone like Nader was going to save them from Gore back in 2000. Believe me, no one wants to vote for Bernie Sanders or Alan Grayson or whomever you may have in mind. And they are not going to waste their time trying anyway.

11. Nice assumptions....
then make what you can out of this. I will vote for the best Democratic candidate I can get-but don't expect me to be happy or quiet if the best choice I'm ALLOWED is TTROR(to the right of Reagan.):banghead:

After all lack of choice makes our lives easier and better, right?

7. I should hope not.
Would be rather inconsistent of the administrators if they banned it in 2008 but would allow it in 2012.

12. Why don't you post that in the Ask the Adminstrators forum?
Maybe you will get an actual answer.

6. Nope. Bad memory. I looked at some of my 2008 posts...
...and it was pretty much a thousand times worse than now. I mean, downright evil. I am actually ashamed of some of the phrasing I used back then and I am shocked I wasn't banned. Now I understand the nickname change amnesty.
