Perry boasts about Texas school children being high
Our 4th and 8th grader African-American and Hispanics on the NACH (ph) test, they were some of the highest in the country.

3. What's a NACH(ph) test?
Google just returns a bunch of stuff in German. I thought Perry had no foreign policy experience.:)

4. the google machine
did not yield many results. Then again, neither did the Texas edu site. No NACH (ph) testing listed. Nowhere in tx edu does the word nach exist.

I did find this on wiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_achievement

Need for Achievement is related to the difficulty of tasks people choose to undertake. Those with low N-Ach may choose very easy tasks, in order to minimise risk of failure, or highly difficult tasks, such that a failure would not be embarrassing. Those with high N-Ach tend to choose moderately difficult tasks, feeling that they are challenging, but within reach.

I found zero reference to a NACH (ph) test anywhere, so just what was Rick scary talking about?

5. I could be wrong, but since it's a transcript...
Edited on Thu Sep-08-11 09:27 AM by MrsBrady
I think the (ph) indicates to the reader, per the transcriber, that a phonetic spelling of the word was used, because the word was unknown
to the transcriber.

Just my guess, but I think that is correct.

and as someone else pointed out. N-ach is probably this.
Also, a search for 'need for achievement theory' produces quite a few hits.

but Perry is still full of you know what, because I would like to know how this is tested in Texas public schools.
