"The President gave a great f*cking speech"

Just said to me by my boyfriend.
He added that he "hates" that "f*cking orange guy that sits next to the vice-president".

I did not watch the speech. I am at work. Might catch it on a replay, and will def. try to read a transcript and read newspaper and on-line articles about it.

From what I am reading, it seems like the President gave a very fiery speech, one that needed to be made. Props to him in that regard.

B/F said that the President's speech basically said to cut the BS and do things that are right for the American people.

Let's hope Congress listens.

I'm in Canada, ...follow your politics like an addict :)...and I was CHEERING him on. He rocked it.

He IS the smartest guy in the room. No doubt about it.

President Obama CANNOT fix the entire American Economy ON HIS OWN. I know most people know this. So I'm hoping he gets a little cooperation from the other side of the isle. Even though, I suspect he won't get much.

HOWEVER, as the recently passed-on Canadian Leader of the New Democratic Party, Jack Layton, said in the closing of his final letter to Canadians, on his death bed:

"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world."
