Attack GOP on the patriotism issue if they oppose the jobs plan

The speech and its plan were well received by almost all economists and even moderate Republicans like David Brooks, as well as liberals like Krugman. But the narrative now has to be that if you oppose the plan, you are doing it for nakedly partisan reasons and against the better interests of the country. Attack their patriotism, in the proverbial way that GOP strategists attack into the strength of the opposition.

Obama is very smart and has always been able to understand and articulate the underlying issues and how to work with them. But where he has been very weak is in framing the debate, manipulating the narrative, and dealing with the relentless opposition of the GOP. The line of attack now has to give the GOP the choice of country or party. They can only prove their patriotism by supporting the country over naked partisan goals. Otherwise, they prove they are willing to sacrifice millions of American jobs just to get Obama out of office.
