Another collage for y'all.
Edited on Thu Sep-15-11 07:59 PM by Pab Sungenis

And what did we get?

So when you pile up the little "achievements," remember what happened with the one Obama initiative from the first two years that actually could have improved the lives of the average voter.

He turned his back on us.

Do not let him do it with the jobs bill, too.

3. Yep.
You can pile all the half truths on top of each other all you want and it won't make a whole truth.

You don't have much to work with.

5. It's not a sequel.
It's pointing out Obama's biggest failure. And now he's going back down the same path with the second most important piece of legislation of his first (I hope) term as he did with the first.

for republican obstructions and congressional screwups -- something weird about that.

11. I blame him for
trading away single payer before we even got to the table, instead of negotiating down from it. And I blame him for abandoning the public option.

Now let's see if what he trades away from the Jobs bill. Is he going to make the same mistake?

12. Hmmm?
"I blame him for trading away single payer before we even got to the table "?

What?

Maybe you can run for President and prove how much more adept you are at negotiating. It seems that some of the President's determined detractors are attempting to match wits with him.

13. You don't take anything off the table before you start negotiating.
Rule number one of negotiation. You start with your extreme, they start with theirs, and you meet in the middle.

Obama threw away not only our extreme but what we actually wanted, and got something 4/5 of the way to their extreme. And of course they moved their goalposts accordingly.

14. So
"You don't take anything off the table before you start negotiating. Rule number one of negotiation. You start with your extreme, they start with theirs, and you meet in the middle."

...you're a master negotiator?

Like I said, run for President. It's really the best way to employ your genius.

19. Hmmmm?
"Not to mention it's common sense."

You knnow what's not common sense: expecting a Democratic caucus that includes Lieberman (who opposed the public option) to consider single payer and then being unable to deal with that reality.

"I studied negotiation tactics, yes."

Still time to declare!

20. I never said I expected him to GET single payer.
I expected him to use it to negotiate a better deal.

Instead, he used the public option, which could have actually made the bill do something, and traded it away instead.

21. Are you
"I expected him to use it to negotiate a better deal."

...sure you're master negotiator?

Do you seriously believe the only reason the public option didn't pass is because single payer wasn't on the table?

22. It's a major part of it, yes.
The other part of it was that Harry Reid sold it out by bringing the Baucus bill to the floor instead of the Kennedy bill.

32. I know, it is so irrational that they assume that
Obama actually wants the result necessitated by Republicans. As if he'd have veto'ed a bill with the public option. That's how they treat it. No wonder so little progress is made.

25. Obama wanted the public option.... the Blue Dogs prevented us from getting it. What irks me is

that ALL of this -- and I mean ALL -- could have been prevented if the Atty. General of Massachusetts had done a better job of campaigning for Senator, and not taken a Christmas vacation just 3 weeks before the special election. She was not visible, she was lackadaisical, and thought she was a shoo-in.

She would have been our 60th vote in a fillibuster-proof Senate.. How close we came!

Sarah shares the same end result with her latest as well. Puffing herself up to be something she's not didn't fly too well, neither does tearing the President down on most lies and exaggerations.
