The supreme court is a big enough reason if nothing else is.

A man like Rick Perry would destroy this country!

I think come next May, the Obama support will increase dramatically.

1. It's also possible people will be totally apathetic.
the nation is in the toilet, and we have a choice between corruption with the Big Wall Street People running us further in the ground, or corruption with the Big Wall Street people running us further into the ground while we are required to submit to RW Christian fundamentalism.

This is not the country I grew up in.

But I guess it is how an oligarchy works.

2. I agree. When most liberals see the two choices, the path will be clear. nt

3. The Democratic Voters cannot Re-Elect Obama. He needs help from Indies
and Repug Crossover voters. If he doesn't get his poll ratings up amongst those two groups he's going to have a hard time getting re-elected. It's just the way it works.

He had so many Indies and Crossovers from Repug Left who turned out for him...SICK OF BUSH/FASCISTS...but, he's not seen as being the "Change they Could Believe In." They will move to someone they feel is more forceful..imho..and commentary from stuff I read from both left and right sources.

5. It would be someone that polls at 10% nationwide......
and is beloved by those who don't really give a shit about much of anything,
but like to play like they do on the Internet.

10. It's unknown. Unless Obama, himself, becomes more forceful going foward
to recapture those who feel he didn't live up to their expectations. It's still awhile yet...let's hope Obama finds his footing. The Repug candidates all seem to be idiots...but we know an "idiot" stole the 2000 Election. :-(

7. The "Dems" have already done so, and with apparent enthusiasm.
But some here on DU seem to be a little slow.

12. Having a known Repuke enemy
will focus our attention mightily, but it's the independents in the mushy middle who really will determine the outcome.

If a re-elected President Obama has a Rethuglican Senate, he's not going to be able to make any significant appointments to the Court, they'll fight anyone even to the right of Sotomayor and Kagen tooth and nail.
