These Republican candidates are like Teen Idols. Here today. Gone tomorrow. One minute, it's Jonas Bros.(Perry) and the next minute it's Beiber (Christie).

14. Perry's ideas and views are to outlandish and dumb, even for the GOP. He is downright embarrassing

2. I honestly don't think he'll run

First, it's really too late.

Second, he knows he'd be put up only as the next "anti-Romney" candidate, like the chump at the "shoot-the-duck" concession at a carnival. Next customer, please!

Perhaps these wealthy Republican elites are putting his name out there for consumption in 2016. But I doubt even Christie wants to risk taking potshots to see if he can be the one to hit the target this time.

There is, however, good news in this. It shows how little the Republicans are unified around Romney. It also perhaps betrays their concerns that they can not win this next one.

Just my thoughts. I'll eat crow if he does jump in.

Christie knows this, too.

It still is a two horse race between Perry and Romney - the primaries are going to be regional in nature. Perry will do well in the real wingnut type states - Iowa, SC, and down south, and Romney will do better in the north.

What we are seeing with Perry is what we see the "liberal media" do with democrats, tear them apart.

10. Christie has only held significant political office for a little more than 2 years

when he was elected Governor in November 2008 and took office January 2009. Other than serving as an elected member to the Morris County, New Jersey, Board of Chosen Freeholders - that is the extent of his political experience.

because the other Republican freeholders ran as a team with a new republican in the primaries. No Democrat has won a seat for decades.

Give the devil his due he did a good job. Even I liked his telling people to "get the hell off the beach".

I think that Christie knows that his schtick is not going to go over too well south of the Mason Dixon line. For one thing he's a Catholic. Now for the fundies who dominate the party that may be one step up the ladder to hell from a Morman like Romney but it's hard to see how they'd fall in love with the guy. He's pro-life but not rabidly so. He's expressed a belief that humans are exacerbating climate change--a heresy in GOP circles and I'm pretty sure he believes in evolution.

He's better off cooling his jets down in Jersey, building up enough bipartisan support to stave off a challenge from, say, Cory Booker, and going for a second term.
