Washington Post editorial board: Obama deserves benefit of the doubt. Senate bill worth it
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 05:34 PM by mcablue
Their bottom line: "Given his willingness in his first year to make some tough decisions -- on financial rescue, on Afghanistan -- it seems to us he has earned the benefit of the doubt."

1. Gee, what a surprise
Beltway fish-wrapper supports a K-Street policy.

12. +1
The Post must be following health insurance stocks (and thanking their "lucky" stars that Obama has no intention of upsetting the K Street apple cart, regardless of the suffering on Main Street).

2. Seeing how he was given a horrible mess to deal with
people shouldn't be screaming at him that he isn't cleaning fast enough or he missed a spot.

Obama's life's work speaks for itself as to being a good man, and it's wrong to doubt him. Almost all the accusations against him are driven by bias or agenda rather than the facts

5. I see Obama and the senate as separate entities.
I'll support this bill, but I don't like it.

8. They are separate. It's not like when the GOP was subservient to Bush
which was a historical deviation

3. Only 4 out of 33 op-ed writers are female. All recent hires are conservatives:
Kathleen Parker
Bill Kristol
Michael Gerson

Ugh!

4. Froomkin is liberal though. Isn't he?
He's one of my favorites in the Washington Post. I like the fact they also have liberals in the mix.

11. escalating the war was the easy way to go
ending the war would have been the tough decision, and he didn't do it. Ending it will be tough and we'll see if Obama has what it takes.
