Herman Cain's implosion re-opens the door for Rick Perry
We're not done with Bush the Third yet. He's got money, field organization, and is the precisely the brand of stupid and dangerous that the Republicans who can't stand Mitt Romney can get behind. The TeaBaggers will line up wherever they are told by Rush Limbaugh.

The Godfather of Pizza had his 15 minutes. And it was kinda fun. No, hilarious actually. But the Tea Pees were never actually going to vote for a black man in 2012 any more than they did in 2008.

Watch Cain's numbers wilt and Rick Perry's head back up. If anybody can beat Romney now, it will only be Rick Perry.

(I sincerely hope I am wrong. But I have lived in Texas all of my life, and I don't think I am.)

1. Did you miss the video of him nearly pissing his pants in unwarranted delight over syrup?

2. "Save a pretzel for the gas jets" come to life.
Rick Perry's parody of a Rick Perry parody. No, I didn't miss it. That kind of bong-hitting jocularity is exactly what many Texans (read: TeaBaggers across the nation) love about the guy. That's I meant by dangerously stupid.

5. I think you're right.
And if any more Rick Perry on Drugs videotape surfaces, or if he keeps stepping on his dick every day like he has for the past three weeks, then it won't even be close.

Somebody is going to be Not-Romney through next spring -- GOP awards convention delegates proportionately through either March or April, can't remember (Richard Vigurie said this on ED last Friday) -- and that's not going to be Cain any more, or Paul. Or Gingrich. Or Santorum. Or Bachmann.

It won't be long now. Newt and Bachmann are ready to crawl in the mud ASAP.

7. Yes. His rumored, unsubstantiated
homosexual liaisons. I posted about that here:

Please note that DU's Homophobe Mafia got that thread locked down. In the fourth link there, you need to click to photo #15 of 34 to see Perry's alleged paramour Geoffrey Connor.

9. Thom Hartmann implied that Perry's sexual problem will be far worse than Cain's
Thom Hartmann said today on his show that it's big, real big, and that Perry's opponents will trot it out if his campaign gets rolling again.

12. Look at as many pictures of Perry's wife as possible.
Even for photos that would obviously be public, she is not a happy camper in the majority of them. I wonder if she suffers from depression or some other emotional problem. Or perhaps it's the state of her relationship with him.

14. I think it's premature to call it an implosion. Several prominent conservatives have
come to Cain's defense. Lets wait and see how this shakes out. And BTW, I would have no problem seeing Cain get the nomination. I think he would be an easy loser to Obama.

28. "Best case scenario: That dude’s hammered"
First Reading blog AAS 11/1/11
First Reading: Jon Stewart weighs in on Perry’s unusual New Hampshire speech

You didn’t think the Daily Show’s Jon Stewart was just going to let Gov. Rick Perry’s bizarre Friday speech in New Hampshire pass right by without taking a swing, did you?

In the speech, Perry giggles at his own jokes, is particularly animated, sways back and forth and over-reacts with joy when given a bottle of maple syrup by his hosts.

Stewart: “Best case scenario: That dude’s hammered. Worst case scenario: That is Perry sober, and every time we’ve seen him previously, he’s been hammered. Or, there is one other explanation. Rick Perry just got back from the dentist.”

Link to the video at Comedy Central
The Perry part comes at about 5:06 into the clip.

:spray: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

31. Won't happen.
Cain's losing ground only delays Perry's exit by another few hours.

It's going to be Romney, and I believe we should stop aiding the establishment's clumsy attempts to make the race interesting. The sooner Romney's inevitability is acknowledged, the sooner he can start boring voters into (his own) oblivion.
