St. Louis Cardinals Whining about Not Getting a Presidential Phone Call
Apparently the Cardinals are whining because they didn't get a congratulatory phone call from Obama when they won the World Series.

Of course, if he DID call them, someone would be complaining that he should be spending less time watching baseball and more time on the economy.

1. Perhaps the WH has not forgotten Tony LaRussa and Albert Pujols's appearance at Glen Beck's rally
And that has to have consequences.

2. I do hope that was the reason for the slight.
And if so, I'm glad they are keeping track of the scumbags.

3. They're not whining
and Pres. Obama just didn't get around to calling them yet. Apparently he didn't call the Giants straight away after their win last year either.

5. Aww, is somebody still pissed that the Cardinals won the World Series?
Why don't you link to the actual article before accusing the Cardinals of "whining"? Oh, yeah, that's right, because the original article shows matters to be quite different that what you say.

"When KMOX host Charlie Brennan asked now-retired St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa how the traditional call of congratulations from the White House went, La Russa suddenly realized that…it never happened.

“That’s a good point, I hadn’t really even thought about that,” replied a surprised-sounding La Russa, who can be forgiven for having a few other things on his mind over the past week. “As we were getting into the World Series we had a call from the White House to make sure they had the correct number for my office.”

So in other words, nobody with the Cardinals realized that the call hadn't been made until a reporter brought the matter up. A far cry from whining, despite your attempt to twist the facts.

Furthermore, La Russa had this to say: "And all this despite the fact that the First Lady, Michelle Obama, was in town for Game 1 of the World Series.

“Very impressive, too.” La Russa recalled of his meeting with the First Lady."

So the Cardinals weren't going to the media complaining, in fact they apparently hadn't even realized that the call hadn't been placed. La Russa praised Michelle Obama as well. Yet some sore losers are trying to smear the Cardinals because their team aren't World Series champs. You know what I have to say to those folks? HA-HA!

6. Another St. Louisan comment
Some people are just whiners, especially the one that posted this original link. I find it hard to believe that anyone from St Louis would whine about the president not calling them as of yet. Get your facts straight before complaining. St Louis did pretty much the impossible this year, being 10.5 games out in August, beat Philly, Milwaukee, and almost losing the World Series twice. Game 6 will go down in history as the best game ever played. President Obama will call. I'm sure he has much more pressing issues to address. And don't forget that St. Louis has the best fans anywhere in this country. Go Cardinal Nation!!!

7. The Phillies got to go to the WH!
The WH even rescheduled the visit due to the death of Harry Kallas.

The POTUS must like the Phillies more than the Cardinals!

8. Where is your link to the Cardinals "whining"?
Or did you just make it up.

11. There has been a lot of that around here lately
With or without links. It's like Fox News: just make some shit up and even if it's completely wrong and untrue, people will respond as if it were. No proof to the contrary will convince them. The meme will be forever planted as the naked, unadulterated truth.

Posting a link — any link — is even more effective, especially if it completely contradicts the header from the OP. But it looks authentic to have a link there. The "believers" only read the header; they never open links.

I could make a post saying that Obama just mobilized the National Guard to bring in armored tanks -- and drones! -- to mow down Zucotti Park, and people would completely believe it. I can even imagine the whoops and yelps!

9. Actually, Tony La Russa said that he hadn't even thought about it until a reporter asked him about
it. I wouldn't call that whining.
