14. The Bush Era tax cuts should expire before the second term starts
The other two are beyond his power.

16. Correct ... he can allow ALL Bush tax cuts to expire ...
And yes, that will hurt the middle class some ... but it also ends the crazy tax cuts for the rich.

The GOP will be under pressure to re-instate the cuts for those under 250k.

12. pushing a constitutional amendment that will remove money from politics
and remove corporate person-hood - banning all campaign donations above what an average person can afford and severely restricting lobbying. There are very few other issues that can be addressed except cosmetically as long as money rules politics.

17. This thread is proof of how far DU has fallen
The OP asks a serious, legitimate question and more than half of the responses are simply idiotic.

Q: "What Do You Think Should Be President Obama's Priorities For A Second Term?"
A: "Act like a Democrat."

Why not just type "I really have no idea" and be done with it? It's just like a poll question that recently asked which CABINET member is the "greatest burden" to Obama and of course, the thread was swarmed with simpletons saying "Obama." Sometimes this place is more than a bit special...

20. I agree
and believe that we as democrats need to sharpen our skills to defeat republicans in 2012 and beyond, particularly in Congress.

18. And for what it's worth, I'd like to see the president's second term
focus more on improving education nationwide and creating an environment in which more jobs can be created.

I'm pleased with the president's foreign policy successes (so far) and hope that those continue as well.

19. jobs...
jobs - bring unemployment down to 5%
a federal jobs program to repair our infrastructure
reduce military spending - significant cuts by closing overseas bases and discontinuing expensive weapon programs
put returning veterans to work here at home
reduce the deficit - cut it in half by taxing the rich and reducing war spending
strengthen health care reform - preferably medicare for all
overturn citizen's united - get big money out of electioneering
more equitable taxation - restore top marginal tax rates to Clinton era (and preferably Eisenhower era) levels
greater regulation of wall street and big banks
abolish draconian drug laws - get federal government out of it

Republicans must suffer big losses in congressional elections for us to move toward these goals.

21. Actually being a Democrat would help.
Raise taxes, support labor, regulate the banks, end the free trade agreements, universal health care, cut the military, punish outsourcing etc. etc.

All things that will probably not happen.

25. Knock off the bipartisan shit.
He should not be reaching out to the pukes for a solution to the problems that they created. They have nothing to add to fix the problem, all we get is watered down shit that does nothing except give them a petty little victory.
