Romney has to be grinning from ear to ear tonight.
His path to the nomination has been paved. His path to the White House.....not so much.

2. The Cain downfall is bad for Romney
A more formidable RW challenge will now emerge that could give him a run for his money (so to speak) and a real challenge for the nomination.

And methinks that person's name is Newt.

7. What was proven tonight is that no hard right wing candidate can win
They will have to go with a sleeper "moderate" candidate to have any hope of competing, since their bizarre overreaching has ruined the field for the Tea Party nutsos. So it is not Cain's appalling behavior that has saved Romney's chances, but the fact that any attempt to run a right winger in states like Ohio has been shot to shit by the Tea Party behavior once in power throughout the last year. With the election last night, that became glowingly obvious to even the most regressive forces of the GOP.

Who is the "McCain" of the current crop? Is it really Romney?

6. Imagine what happens if he has a chance of winning!
Just imagine what that guy is going to go through if Newt Gingrich gets the second slot.

How would you feel if a ruthless sociopath was running for the purpose of being only one dead body away from the Presidency, and that dead body is you?

Romney may wind up being the first U.S. candidate to have a food-taster on staff....

5. Seems to me that the right-wing will like his "courageous, principled stand" today.
They probably believed everything he said and his poll #'s will rise.
