White House Weighs In On Anti-Union Law Repeal Vote

The White House just weighed in on the repeal of Gov. John Kasich's anti-collective bargaining law in Ohio, with Press Secretary Jay Carney offering the following statement.

“The President congratulates the people of Ohio for standing up for workers and defeating efforts to strip away collective bargaining rights, and commends the teachers, firefighters, nurses, police officers and other workers who took a stand to defend those rights. "

-- Sam Stein

13. Here's hoping that Obama gets
his ass in higher gear!

And also sacks some advisors and get people like Krugman on board!

And we need the election of real Democrats in the Senate and House!

21. "Gets his ass in higher gear". Pfft!
And how many people "like Krugman" do you know? And since they can't be drafted, do you know any that actually want the job?

24. You only answered part of the question. Krugman didn't want to be involved...
in the administration, remember? So I'll ask again. Do you know, or have a link, where "Bill Black or McMartin" say they want to be part of this administration? Lots of economists like their jobs spouting off in columns, and making their appearances on the teevee, but they don't want to be accountable if it all goes BOOM! I have a feeling that's why Krugmann didn't want to be involved. Theory is one thing, practice is quite another. ;)

30. Krugman did not want to be involved...
Because he knows it is far harder to actually be in the fight than it is to voice your opinion from the outside!

22. Statement from Vice-President Joe Biden

SNIP

Vice President Biden took a similar tone, “Tonight the people of Ohio delivered a gigantic victory for the middle class with their overwhelming rejection of a Republican attempt to strip away collective bargaining rights. Fundamental fairness has prevailed. By standing with teachers and firefighters and cops, Ohio has sent a loud and clear message that will be heard all across the country: The middle class will no longer be trampled on. The people of Ohio are to be congratulated.”

33. Pres. Obama can give you "some pointers"; OFA was GOTV on this issue for weeks prior to this vote.
Edited on Wed Nov-09-11 11:43 AM by ClarkUSA
"SOMEONE" should try joining OFA and working their allegedly Democratic ass off like OH Obama supporters have been instead of baselessly and bitterly complaining about President Obama ad nauseum because they don't like the way the 2008 election cycle turned out.
