He took the route of thanking the crew of the carrier specifically for their role in starting the war with Iraq, being used in Afghanistan and used to help capture Osama Bin Laden.
I think it would have been a lot more of a farther reaching and complimentary message if he'd also noted that the crew was also instrumental in helping out Haiti when they had their disaster. That in my mind would be a far bigger compliment to the men and women in service there instead of just complimenting them on warmaking. His speech writers really need to help him talk to his base more.
At least another spokesman just mentioned on the show just a minute ago or so how it was used in Haiti and confirmed my earlier thoughts that it was used there too.
Game has me thinking a lot of my dad now who I saw pass away two years ago on Pearl Harbor day in San Diego where we all used to live and who earlier was a Michigan State professor and a big Spartan fan. He was also a Navy vet from Korea too.
