Romney predicts he will lose Iowa
Via Teagan Goddard, the St. Petersburg Times reports Mitt Romney privately told supporters in Tallahassee that he thinks he'll lose to a tea party candidate in Iowa, but that he'll ultimately win the nomination by prevailing in Florida:

Romney predicted a Tea Party favorite would win Iowa and that he would take New Hampshire, according to interviews with six people in the audience. Romney told the crowd he would seal the nomination by then winning Florida's Republican contest.

2. he's following McCain's game plan
lose Iowa, win NH and eliminate any challengers by taking FL. Of course South Carolina is in there somewhere, too, and I think Cain or Gingrich have a real chance there.

7. IMO, he won't win any southern state in the primaries. Gingrich is coming on strong now.
Gingrich needs to borrow some crazy religious talk from Bachmann and throw some birther stuff out and he will do even better. Announcing "God told me to run " would help him.
