My Suspicion: Sarah Palin will cause an upset!
I think in Jan/Feb. 2012 she will put her bid in as President and I think she will blow all the goons out of the water. Although she's a goon herself. She will win the nomination and it will Obama maybe competing against. Maybe her and Gingrich as Vice. I know what I'm saying might not be true.

But at this point...the GOP has managed to shock and surprise me endlessly. I would not be surprised if this is the case.

1. This wouldn't surprise me, either.
No outcome with that party would be too stupid to imagine.

2. Nope. Today Palin went way way too far to the extreme right - advocating lynching
Sarah Palin On Sandusky: ‘Hang Him From The Highest Tree And I’ll Bring The Rope’
VIDEO: http://www.mediaite.com/tv/palin-on-sandusky-hang-him-from-the-highest-tree-and-ill-bring-the-rope/

p.s. There are tons of crazy people on the right that would vote for Palin, but not enough to get her into the White House. Who ever the GOP nominee ends up being he/she will still have to have a chuck of Independents in order to win - and the majority of Independents are too sane for vote for Palin :)

5. Sandusky (from what we know of him) is a loathsome guy
and I hope that he gets put away so that he can no longer continue harming children but openly advocating mob/vigilante "justice" against him is just as creepy IMHO. Of course, Sarah doesn't seem to have any filters between her head and her mouth and it shows.

26. agree that most independents would not vote for her
but would that stop her adoring base (which ALL vote in the primaries) from getting her the nomination.

6. How much time does he have
to get in and make a run for it? I remember some people thinking that Fred Thompson would be a tough candidate for Obama/Hillary but we all know how quickly that idea vanished.

8. It's already past the SC date for being on the ballot
NH is coming up soon. Any state where he is not on the ballot is a problem - though it might be possible to have a write in. (This might be tougher in a primary if you are really voting for the delegates.)

7. In many states, she would then have to be a write in candidate
This did work for Murkowski, but I seriously do not see it happening. If she did randomly jump in in January (February is after some states), I suspect it would help Romney as it would split the non Romney numbers.

13. with practically 100% name recognition she could be a write-in
and the non-stop pundit hysteria over her candidacy & media tidal wave will push her easily over the top.

She is content milking her supporters for vacation money while they live with the delusions that someday she may actually take a real job.

11. Please, please, please be right
Besides giving Obama the most one-sided victory in Presidential history, a Sarah Palin campaign would keep comedians actively employed for months. And her defeat would absolutely break the hearts of Freepers. If Palin abandons her Fox gig and the other commercial aspects of Palin, Inc. that she has now cultivated around her brand and runs for President, a mere "title" as she puts it, she will be even more stupid than I thought, but I hope you're right. By the way, is there a deadline for her to declare?

12. Have you looked at her polling with Repubs? They KNOW her and are not going to vote for her.
Your suspicions and predictions are way off.

"A nugget from today's Pew poll that deserves a post of its own: Forty-one percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters say there is "no chance" they would vote for Sarah Palin in a presidential race."

16. The Republicans don't like her, the rest hate her.
In addition, it should be clear to all that she never had the chops to sustain a campaign. Some of us knew that all along. She is not popular, she lacks skill, lacks energy, lacks all of it.

20. I don't disagree in the first part of the idea but...
Sarah has the problem of her history.

The Alaskan bloggers and a few newspapers have massed a huge body of damning facts dating back to her days as major.

Just as a few brave souls have already been willing to go on the record talking about Sarah, there will be more as time passes and as well as in response to her ever seeking a position of power again.

The Repubs put up corrupted idiots by choice but I really think Sarah is too damaged by her own history and her own mouth to every be elected again.

Now appointed to a cabinet seat......? Just be glad she didn't go to law school.

23. I just had the misfortune to see her on Fox news when I was flipping channels
She said that she is not sad she is not running, but intends to shake things up with Sweitzer, who is "part of her pack". Remember this when you hear of his book - which is in some ways the Jerome Corsi equivalent for 2012.

She also said that there was a failure to vet Obama in 2008, so we have a President with an invisible past. (I know who the majority of the country thought was unvetted.) One observation is that she really has aged in the last 3 years, but is still as irritating as ever - then she disappeared and Rove was coming next - I quickly changed the channel.

25. No. She doesn't even want to be President. She just wants to make bucks.
She's the real-world version of an Internet troll.

My guess is that the GOP's completely screwed for 2012 - they've got nothing but the current group in the clown car. I'll bet it'll be Romney, but he'll stick his foot in his mouth, fail to pump up his base, and get mowed down when Obama cruises to re-election.

Now as for 2016... That's when all the "serious" Republicans, like Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee are going to take their shots at the Presidency.
