Classic TOON: Nixon Makes His Comeback

"Richard Nixon is a no good , lying bastard.
He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the
same time, and if he ever caught himself
telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in."

-Harry S Truman (1960)

"Richard Nixon has never been one of my favorite people anyway. For years I've regarded his existence as a monument to all the rancid genes and broken chromosomes that corrupt the possibilities of the American Dream; he was a foul caricature of himself, a man with no soul, no inner convictions, with the integrity of a hyena and the style of a poison toad. The Nixon I remembered was absolutely humorless; I couldn't imagine him laughing at anything except maybe a paraplegic who wanted to vote Democratic but couldn't quite reach the lever on the voting machine."

-Hunter S. Thompson (1968)

1. That still pretty much sums up today's Republican Party
Gerry Ford was an anomaly, a throwback to the Republican Party of Javits and Dirksen. Other than Ford,
Nixon has been their guiding light, and most of their presidential candidates have embodied the descriptions
of Truman and Thompson.

It is no accident that an alumnus of Nixon's "Dirty Tricks Team" is now head of Fox "News."

2. Looks like we have the next Not-Romney!
Dick will get his turn to be frontrunner after Newt's campaign inevitably implodes.

3. They don't call him Tricky Dick for nothing!
He will literally emerge from Newts chest cavity after Newt has a massive heart attack from a stroke of conscience. :sarcasm:

6. Nixon was pretty damn crazy.
He was a "big government" Republican kinda like Bush - at least that's what both the Reaganites and now the Tea Party people would tell you.
