compared to his low on Oct. 15-17th: 38%/54%: http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

That's a 14-point swing in about a month!

1. I can't wait for Morning Joe to spend at least a full hour

going over the Presidents rising poll numbers. I'm sure it will happen! Just watch! (sarcasm)

2. I've emailed Chuck Todd about Morning Joe showing the Gallup Daily Tracking polls when
Obama's numbers are down, and he agreed that if you "live by the poll, you die by the poll" and said he'd talk to Joe about it. I'm gonna email him today and ask him to ask Joe to mention this poll.

3. Thanks... Its good to talk to someone who has "influence!"

Morning Joe loves to spend time talking about the Presidents numbers when they are down, but they never mention anything when the President is up.

4. I just emailed him:
Edited on Sun Nov-20-11 03:13 PM by jenmito
"Can you ask Scarborough to mention today's Gallup Tracking Poll?

Obama's numbers are now 47%/45% approval/disapproval. And as you know, Joe shows Gallup's daily poll numbers when Obama's down, so shouldn't he show them when he's up? I know YOU don't believe in this poll, but Joe clearly does. "Live by this poll, die by this poll" as you say: http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx Thanks in advance."

He already replied!: "excellent point... i will"

ETA: I obviously wrote the numbers backwards and sent him a correction. Darn. He's at 45%/47%, not 47%/45%.`

8. It should practically be a cakewalk with this bunch of people running
Romney is the only true threat he might face but once the campaign starts in earnest, there will be a lot that they can attack him on, not to mention President Obama's accomplishments. Do the people (esp. in the midwest) want a guy who was ready and willing to make the auto companies declare bankruptcy and supported Ohio's union busting? Does anybody want a guy who supported a "personhood" amendment? Likewise, the GOP is going to have to get fundies to vote for a guy who, at one time, declared that he was to the left of Ted Kennedy on gay and abortion rights, not to mention signing a health care law in Massachusetts that later became the model for the much reviled (among the right) "Obamacare"? None of the other candidates except for Huntsman merit serious consideration in terms of a viable candidacy but since conservatives are already upset about having Romney as the nominee despite all of his flip-flop pandering, there's almost no way that they will allow Huntsman to become the nominee IMHO. So, Romney is probably the only candidate they'll be stuck with to pit against President Obama in 2012 and they'll be as excited by him as they were about Dole, McCain, etc.

11. Usually at this early stage of the Presidential race

the incumbent President is behind. This is good news.

7. I think people are starting to wake up to the GOPs
inability to actually solve problems. The mask is coming off.

9. I hope so too
What's more is I hope that people are finally getting tired of the GOP's rampant obstructionism, which is what is really getting in the way of getting anything meaningful done IMHO.

17. tracking polls are up and down, now if he stays in that range for a while
that is a good sign. But I've seen a lot of evidence that Obama's approval ratings are getting better. And if the unemployment picture continues to improve it should continue. I predict that unemployment will fall below 9% next month.
