FYI - Obama not triangulating - blamed Republicans.
@DavidCornDC: Obama not triangulating. Notes Ds were willing to make entitlement concessions with him and Rs won't budge.

@DavidCornDC: Note that Obama didn't blame congressional dysfunction. He blamed GOP intransigence. Big difference.

@DavidCornDC: Smart of Obama not to get sucked into super committee failure. Silly GOP argument: this would've worked had O been at the table.

@DavidCornDC: My hunch: Capitol Hill Ds more willing to live with autocuts than Rs. If so, shows that O negotiations in this summer were quasi-successful.

@DavidCornDC:Obama positioning himself to be the fiscal enforcer of Washington. Much better positioning than the Rs who are playing blame-game.

1. Good
cause Dems' Facebook pages are getting slammed with hateful comments. Hopefully he will rally to them, like they have for him when they are up for re-election.

3. After everything we've seen of the R's since 2009
The idea that they would've swooned and finally cut a deal had President Obama been involved (which they reportedly did not want anyway) is patently ridiculous and I'm not exactly how Marco Rubio, et. al can claim anything different with a straight face.

8. Yeah, I know the pattern by now

it just frustrates me that so many people wind up believing it. Check out today's Politico article (and the FB comments are pretty bad too): http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1111/68895.html

It's like all of those budget negotiations and the attempt at a "grand bargain" earlier this year never even happened (and failed for the exact same reasons). :puke: :banghead:
